    HT: Man Utd 2-0 Tottenham

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Two

Man United definitely deserve this lead, but they have lacked ruthlessness.

Tottenham have had chances with Bethany England and Celin Bizet hitting the bar. That has got to leave Tottenham with a little bit of confidence going in at half-time.

Tottenham have worked really hard throughout the entire game, they have defended resolutely, they have got numbers back.

    Man Utd 2-0 Tottenham

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Two

It's brilliant play by Jessica Naz, she does so well on that left-hand side and Celin Bizet gets past Hannah Blundell.

An inch lower and Tottenham would have been back in this game.

That chance will give Tottenham no end of confidence, it just takes that one moment to get your team back in the game. They were inches away.

A warning sign! A big one too. Spurs have not been in the game but could easily have had two goals now. Great play down the left from Jessica Naz sees her pick out Celin Bizet - who crashes a header against the post.

    Man Utd 2-0 Tottenham

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Two

It's a brilliant finish from Alessia Russo, fired into the goal. They have done their research, outnumbered Tottenham at corners and Russo is there to fire in the second

I know we are only in the first half but I would pretty much say that is game over.

  11. goal

GOAL - Man Utd 2-0 Tottenhampublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Alessia Russo (35 mins)

Pick that one out! Nothing the Tottenham keeper can do this time as Leah Galton nods on a corner, Alessia Russo swivels to let the ball drop and then crashes a thunderous volley into the back of the net.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 34 mins

Spurs haven't offered much in this first half - but they did have a great chance to open the scoring. What defending this was...

    Man Utd 1-0 Tottenham

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Two

It's definitely deserved and it is a mistake from former Man United player Amy Turner. She under hits the back pass and Leah Galton curls it in. She was never going to miss with the form she is in right now.

It's a gift for Man United but nothing more than they deserve.

Turner was forced into the mistake by Man United's press.

    Leah Galton (32 mins)

Leah Galton can forget all about that miss now! A howler of a backpass from Amy Turner plays the winger clean through on goal, the angle isn't the kindest but she manages to power it into the corner with the outside of her left foot. Lovely finish!

  16. Postpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 7 May 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 Tottenham

    Siobhan Chamberlain
Ex-England and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Two

Leah Galton should have buried that. The way she angled her body, she should have directed that header goal bound.

She is offside so it will be a relief for her. She just couldn't quite get over it.

    Somehow it remains goalless.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 30 mins

The offside flag is up but that's a big miss! United work a short corner well, Vilde Boe Risa whips in a lovely ball which Leah Galton should bury but instead plants a header against the crossbar.

Sometimes goalkeepers just pick up slight injuries.

Other times, the goalkeepers are told to go down so the team can have a re-jig in terms of formation or anything that is going well or going badly.
