    They've got a chance.

I don't think the stats will be very complimentary for Town but it's still 0-0.

David Kasumu has had some huge moments defensively. He's had a good half closing players down.

I think Neil Warnock will give them 10/15 minutes and if it's still constant Sheffield United possession he might just bring on another defensive player and try and shut up shop.

The Blades have scored 11 times in their last four games, but are struggling to break down the blue and white wall.

There's cheers from the home fans as they're forced to play the ball all the way back to their keeper Wes Foderingham.

So far so safe for Huddersfield.

  3. 'Huddersfield sticking to their task'published at 20:30 British Summer Time 4 May 2023

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Town are not interested in the spectacular because there's no point. If they try and play against these they will get battered.

They've worked on their shape in training and they've stuck well to it.

Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge has a pop from 25 yards.

It's on target - only the second such attempt of the match - but it lacks power and is a comfortable grab for home keeper Lee Nicholls.

    As you were.

There's one man in the Sheffield United half - and that's the man with the gloves.

Another half-chance for Daniel Jebbison after some patient build-up, but he can only guide his effort across the face of goal.

Not the most comfortable of viewing if you're in blue and white I'd imagine.

    They're stepping it up.

The Blades are winding up the pressure and forcing the hosts' back four to work hard with some intricate play around the 18-yard box.

So far so good for the point Huddersfield need to survive, but how much more of this can they absorb?

  7. 'Real miss for Jebbison'published at 20:16 British Summer Time 4 May 2023

Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

I think Matty Pearson will be the most relieved player at that Daniel Jebbison miss.

He went to smash his player and got nowhere near it.

That's a real chance and a real miss.

Another chance for Blades striker Daniel Jebbison!

George Baldock wriggles free on the left edge of the box, gets to the byeline and stands up a cross to the far post.

But the 19-year-old heads well over the bar.

  9. Postpublished at 25 mins

It's been a little tense, but Huddersfield are getting a foothold and have their first corner.

Jack Rudoni floats it to the back post and keeper Wes Foderingham claims easily.

The home side have barely touched the ball in their opponents' half, but the noise rises audibly with a brief incursion.

Josh Koroma is brought down in the centre circle and there's finally a platform to launch a set-piece into the box.

John Egan earns the first yellow card of the match for the offence.

But no sooner has the ball found the United 18-yard box there's a shove in the back of a Blades defender and the whistle blows.

  11. 'Always a chance in the Championship'published at 20:08 British Summer Time 4 May 2023

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Sheffield United's record just screams the Championship.

They've lost 10 league games but comfortably finished second.

There's always a chance in this league.

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Utd

The visitors win the first corner of the evening, but it comes to nothing.

This is United's first away league game since Easter Monday and defeat at Burnley.

A veritable eternity in Championship terms, but they've settled well.

Sheffield United are knocking it around nicely as they boss possession and territory.

Nothing to alarm the Terriers fans though - Huddersfield have averaged just 30% of the ball this season.

It's what you do with it that counts.

  14. 'Town too easy to open up'published at 19:56 British Summer Time 4 May 2023

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Matthew Glennon
Former Huddersfield keeper on BBC Radio Leeds

Daniel Jebbison should have done better with that chance.

It was too easy to cut through Town but Lee Nicholls did well to stand up and make a big save.

    It's good goalkeeping.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 8 mins

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Utd

Big stop that from Huddersfield keeper Lee Nicholls.

Space opens up for Daniel Jebbison behind the Terriers defence and he's through on goal, but Nicholls stands tall to block the shot with his chest.

And then there's an early blow for United as Max Lowe is forced off with that innocuous looking injury. Enda Stevens is on in his place - his 12th appearance of the season.

Blades full-back Max Lowe goes down and needs treatment after appearing to get his studs caught in the turf.

But he's back on his feet and able to go on.

It's pouring down at the John Smith's Stadium as the heavens chose to open just before kick-off.

Lovely link-up play between Daniel Jebbison and Iliman Ndiaye down the left sees the latter unleash a powerful effort from the edge of the box, but there's a Huddersfield body in the way.

That won't help the anxiety in the stands.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 4 May 2023

Big night here if you're a Terrier or a Royal.

A positive result and the hosts are safe. Lose and they'll face a final day relegation shootout with Reading.

    Let's see what unfolds.

Huddersfield boss Neil Warnock has won promotion eight times across his long career in management.

The 74-year-old has managed more than 1,600 games and been promoted to the Premier League with Sheffield United, QPR and Cardiff.

Despite this he believes keeping Huddersfield up this season would be his finest accomplishment.

"It would be the biggest achievement for me," he told BBC Radio Leeds., external

"We were seven points adrift and I think we had nine of the top 10 left to play and confidence was a bit low.

"I can't fault the staff and the players have responded. Yes, we've made mistakes but they have been honest mistakes.

"I think if you had said to me when I came in that we would have a chance to stay up with two games to go I would have snapped your hand off."

Unlike their hosts tonight, Sheffield United's work for the season is done and dusted.

Last week's 2-0 home win over West Brom secured their promotion back to the Premier League at the second attempt.

Boss Paul Heckingbottom said after beating the Baggies that his side owed it to the league to continue to give everything in their remaining games, and they subsequently hammered Preston 4-1 on Saturday to underline that.

The Blades are also eyeing a very small piece of history, as victory tonight would see them do a league double over Huddersfield for the first time since the 1960-61 season.
