    Rotherham 0-0 Middlesbrough

A change-up from Middlesbrough as they go long to Marc Bola. He lays it off to Riley McGree, who finds Cameron Archer and his first-time effort is over.

No issues about Boro going a bit more direct. We saw what happened when Manchester City did that to Arsenal last Wednesday!

    Rotherham 0-0 Middlesbrough

Wes Harding launches one of his missile long throw-ins into the Boro box, where it causes panic amongst the visiting defenders.

It falls to Jamie Lindsay on the edge of the box, but the Scottish midfielder can't keep his shot on target.

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Radio Tees

This has been a good start from us.

We are gradually getting into the swing of things with some lovely balls through midfield.

We should be one goal up.

  4. CLOSE!published at 7 mins

    Rotherham 0-0 Middlesbrough

Riley McGree thinks he has put the visitors in front as he dinks the ball goalwards past Viktor Johansson.

But the Australia international was not banking on Millers skipper Richard Wood, and all his 37 years, getting back to clear off the line!

Heroic stuff from the captain! Some Boro fans thought they had scored!

A feisty start here where the game has not really settled down yet.

Middlesbrough know their season is going to be extended, having secured their play-off spot nearly a fortnight ago.

But with two regular games left before the semi-final blockbusters, Michael Carrick has to balance resting weary limbs and keeping that momentum.

And while dynamic at the Riverside, they have won just one of their last five on the road, a record they will be wary of ahead of that first leg of the play-offs.

    2017 - relegated. 2018 - promoted. 2019 - relegated. 2020 - promoted. 2021 - relegated. 2022 - promotion. 2023 - ??

Rotherham and consistency do not go together. Each of the last six seasons has finished with the joy of promotion or the pain of relegation.

But this time, the Millers have the chance to end that boom-and-bust cycle.

One more win will secure a second season of Championship football, either at home to Middlesbrough today or away at already-relegated Wigan next Monday.

But Matt Taylor's men could save themselves a nerve-shredding week if they get the job done on their own patch today.
