Brighton are pushing for the equaliser as Facundo Buonanotte's shot at the back post is deflected behind off Rico Lewis, before Buonanotte is then denied by Stefan Ortega after a great run by the Brighton teenager.

Kevin de Bruyne scoops the ball up for Phil Foden inside the box and the forward crosses for Riyad Mahrez at the back post. The forward brings the ball down superbly but can't find an angle for a shot and is forced backwards.

For a moment, Brighton think they are level as Kaoru Mitoma bundles in from a corner.

His initial effort at the back post was well saved by Stefan Ortega but he then almost carried the loose ball over the line on the follow up.

Julio Enciso turns midway inside the Manchester City half and runs towards the box as Brighton come forward again. He takes a shot but it loops off John Stones and behind for another corner.
