  1. 'Brilliant being a Brighton fan at the moment'published at 19:23 British Summer Time 24 May 2023

Brighton v Man City (20:00 BST)

Former Brighton midfielder Dean Hammond says the progress of the club since he first played for the club over two decades ago has been "incredible".

Hammond came through the youth system at the Seagulls back in 2000, when they were in what is now League Two.

"It's incredible," he told BBC World Service.

"It's such a brilliant achievement from where the club's been in the last 20 years from when I was at the football club playing at the Withdean, not having a training ground, not having an official stadium to getting the new stadium to getting the new training ground to establishing ourselves in the Premier League.

"The next step was always to try and get into Europe and they have achieved that this year, but also the brand of football that they play is incredible. And they're a joy to watch. It’s brilliant being a Brighton fan at the moment."

After Pep Guardiola described Roberto de Zerbi as one of the most influential managers of the last 20 years, we're asking who are your five most influential:

Sulaimon Adelekan: My five most influential manager in the last 20 years are in no particular order - Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho, Diego Simeone, Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Neil Watson: My 5 most influential managers are Ferguson, Wenger, Guardiola, Klopp and Mourinho.

Lewis Dunk has been recalled to the England squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.

The defender has been a big player for the Seagulls this season, helping them qualify for European football for the first time in their history.

Prior to the squad's announcement, former Brighton manager Mark McGhee told BBC Radio Sussex's Albion Unlimited podcast that Dunk is "the ultimate professional".

"He is so consistent - it's a thing managers love," said McGhee. "If everyone could give at the same level as Dunk does all the time, then you are laughing.

"The same thing every week. He doesn't change his game and he does it all really well."

Manchester City may have wrapped up the Premier League title already but there's still things they can go for to ensure they finish the season in style.

A win tonight would ensure they reach 90 points or more in a Premier League season for a record fourth time.

They can also keep three consecutive Premier League clean sheets for the first time since December 2021.

The Premier League title is in the bag and now Pep Guardiola just needs to keep everyone ticking over for the FA Cup final on 3 June.

This should still be a really good game though, even if it is something of a shadow City side. Brighton have already secured European football too and this is their final home game of what has been an excellent season so they are not going to sit back or take it easy, not that they ever do anyway.

There has been a bit of a love-in between Guardiola and Seagulls boss Roberto de Zerbi in the build-up and they both always play attacking football, so I can see there being some goals.

It is not going to be cagey, put it that way, and Brighton will definitely have a go... but City will have too much quality for them.

    Prediction: 1-3

Guardiola high praise for Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi

Pep Guardiola believes Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is one of the most influential managers in the last 20 years.

"I congratulate Brighton on their incredible achievement to get into the Europa League," said the Manchester City boss.

"Pay attention to what I'm going to say because I'm pretty convinced I'm right - Roberto de Zerbi is one of the most influential managers in the last 20 years.

"There is no team playing in the way they play - it is unique..

"I had the feeling when he arrived in the Premier League that the impact would be great but I couldn't expect he would do this in this short a time.

"He creates 20-25 chances on average a game. He's better by far than all the opponents, he monopolises the ball in a way I haven't seen for a long, long time."

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi wants the club and fans "to dream" as they move closer to Europa League football for next season.

The Seagulls head into their remaining two fixtures against Champions Manchester City and Aston Villa knowing a point will guarantee them a spot in the Europa League next season.

The south coast club have already guaranteed at least a Europa Conference League place for the next campaign after their win over Southampton.

"We want to play in the Europa League and to do that, we need another point. We want to play seriously and win the game," De Zerbi said.

"We have a big, big target - we respect the Conference League but if we have the opportunity to play in Europa, we must try.

"I'm not shy to fix big targets. It's not arrogance, because I know the quality and know our possibilities.

"It's because I love to dream. I want my players and the fans to dream. It's crucial to everyone."
