    Aston Villa 0-0 Brighton

Brighton’s starting XI today contains four different teenagers (Evan Ferguson, Facundo Buonanotte, Julio Enciso and Yasin Ayari), only Middlesbrough against Fulham in May 2006 have started more teenagers in a single Premier League game.

Young enough and almost certainly good enough too.

Dean Smith says he won't be aware of what's going on at Goodison Park but given the noise here at the King Power, and the tension inside the stadium, you get the feeling the fans will let them know.

The stadium announcer addressed the fans prior to the teams entering the pitch and issued a rallying call - as the cameras in the tunnel panned to Jonny Evans taking a huge inhalation of breath before entering the pitch. A huge afternoon at Leicester ahead.

James Maddison has just gone round and clapped all three of the Leicester fans' stands - he walked out on to the pitch with his young son as mascot. Could this be the final time he plays here?

It's some atmosphere at Villa Park.

We've had flame throwers as the players walked out, huge flags waved, video clips of Villa winning the European Cup and a number of goals scored from them this season and a great claret and blue Tifo from the Holte End.

We've even had ex-Villa defender Olaf Mellberg, back at Villa Park for the first time in 15 years, make a rallying cry saying they can get into Europe.

The atmosphere is already sensational here. It'll only get better too if they secure European football.

  6. 'Head over your heart'published at 16:29 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on Final Score

Everywhere you'll have gone this week, if you're a Leeds, Leicester or Everton player, [you will have been told] 'you've got to win this game.'

Three of them ironically have home games - that is scary. These teams are struggling and it's a huge pressure.

You have to not play with your heart, you have to play with your head. You have to trust yourself to win it.

  7. Two from three to gopublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

A reminder of how the bottom of the table looks before kick off.

With Southampton already down, it is two from three to face the drop with them.

Everton know a win and they are safe, anything else though and we could have some drama on our hands.

  9. The Bundesliga made me worried for todaypublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I looked at today's games and I thought 'this is simple, Everton are going to win'. And then I watched the Bundesliga and the games in Mainz and Cologne, [they had] absolutely nothing to play for. Putting in brilliant performances, and then you're thinking 'oh wow. Maybe [the Premier League] may not be so straight forward.'

A rousing rendition of the Leeds anthem as the teams come out.

The fans are behind the team, as Sam Allardyce wanted, but it is going to take much more than that to complete this escape act.

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:30 BST)

BBC Sport chief football writer at Goodison Park

In among the frenzy and noise being generated by Everton's fans, the Bournemouth fans are enjoying themselves knocking a few beach balls around in the sunshine. Everton will hope tjhat reflects the mood of the Bournemouth team.

All set in an incredible atmosphere at Goodison Park.

  12. 'Leeds need a miracle'published at 16:27 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Leeds v Tottenham (16:30 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
Match of the Day commentator on Final Score

So much of it is out of Leeds' control.

I think they're a bit like a teenager because under Marcelo Bielsa they were having a party. They worked hard but they also played hard. They had fun for such a long time until it wasn't.

Then they decided to go to gambling with Jesse Marsch and they had one big payday at the end of last season and that was wonderful for them and then it became very clear this season that it wasn't going to work.

They went for another approach, Javi Gracia, and just went for the safe bets, red or black but it wasn't going to work either.

So ultimately they called time on that and dad had to come and help out. And here is 'dad,' Sam Allardyce. But I think the fatherly intervention has come just too late.

It really would be a miracle if they get out of this today.

  13. 'Pressure is enormous for Everton'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:30 BST)

    Steve Wilson
Match of the Day commentator on Final Score

It is in their own hands [for Everton] and I was at the Amex Stadium for that remarkable performance against Brighton when they blew them away. What an important three points that could be for them

But if only it was so simple. The decent performances have all really came away from home.

There is enormous pressure on them today, here in front of their own fans.

  14. 'Leicester players owe it to the supporters to put in a performance'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

Leicester v West Ham (16:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on Football Focus

The Leicester situation, you could say - and we'll never say again surely that a team or a squad is too good to go down because they are blessed with quality and I think the Wesley Fofana situation in the summer was a nightmare for that group.

There were players queuing up to leave, Brendan [Rodgers] lost the players and in the end it looks like they're going to go but there's a chance to rescue themselves on the last day of the season.

I think this was the issue in the summer. Brendan made the signals after the FA Cup win last season that he was going to make changes but he didn't have the means to do it because he couldn't bring players back in.

I think they were unsettled. They've been admired for many years, finishing 5th twice, winning the FA Cup but all of a sudden now everybody seems to want to leave. But these players owe it to these supporters to put in a performance. I do feel there will be big changes, whatever happens at Leicester.

  16. 'Everton are in pole position'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:30 BST)

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Everton have got [Neal] Maupay on the bench, [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin is injured.

They're in the pole position, it's in their hands. I've got a sneaky feeling it's going to be a long, horrible afternoon.

We're going to see so many pictures of fans with phones to their ears, listening to other scores, really nerve wracking. Horrible really. I've been involved with last day drama in terms of winning the league and also being relegated and believe me, it's a lot easier going at the top than it is at the bottom.

  17. 'Leicester will never give up'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

Leicester v West Ham (16:30 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce
    Football commentator on Final Score

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. No one is talking about Brendan Rodgers losing his job 12 months ago, when they were in an FA Cup final and when he was in the semi-finals of a European competition.

Remember this was a club that won the league title, this is a club that was in a Champions League quarter-final six years ago. This is a club with fine, fine players and this is a club that will never give up.

But they've won too few matches here [at the King Power] for comfort.

What's the point in pointing fingers on today of all days. It doesn't matter. They need to win today.

This day has more twists and turns in it yet.

  18. 'Everton have got a stable manager'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:30 BST)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

Everton have got a stable manager, someone that has done it in the Championship, done it in the Premier League.

I know they've got a new stadium on the horizon but I feel as though Everton are in the best situation to deal with relegation or staying in the Premier League.

  19. 'Where are the goals coming from for Everton?'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
Former England defender on Football Focus

I'm looking at Everton and I think Sean Dyche has done an amazing job but they have only scored 15 goals so where are the goals coming from?

If you look at Dominic Calvert-Lewin contribution against Brighton and you saw those players breaking from midfield but Calvert-Lewin was the person who gathered that ball, supplied those opportunities and they miss him massively.

Of course they should have strength in depth within their group and it is bad news for them that he's not going to be there and you're hoping there's going to be an inspired moment from somewhere.

I don't buy this idea that going down and coming back up is better for the club, not at all. Certainly not in the Everton case.

  20. 'I expect all teams to maintain their levels'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 28 May 2023

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think there is an element of 'lets go and play with freedom.' People try things that they never try on a weekday, shall we say, or when there's something on it. But nowadays you look at the guys, they're so fit and their standards are so high that they just go and go and keep going.

The only thing you would say is if you're up against a team at a ground and you are playing away from home and all of a sudden there is a avalanche of play against you, whether you have that level of grit and determination. That's the only thing that you wonder about [with the 'dead rubber' teams].

I'm not expecting any of the teams away from home to throw the towel in at all.
