  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 46 mins

    China 0-3 England

A change for England at the break. Georgia Stanway, who was booked against Haiti and would've missed the [probable] last-16 game on Monday with another yellow card, is taken off and replaced by Laura Coombs.

Lauren Hemp is the only other player who could miss the next match if she was booked today.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    Haiti 0-1 Denmark

We're back under way for the second half of Group D's other game.

  3. 'Everyone is so connected'published at 13:07 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    HT: China 0-3 England

    Karen Carney
    Former England midfielder on ITV1

I'm just so happy. It is like we've finally arrived. This is why Sarina Wiegman is paid the big bucks.

Every player is in their best position. We want Lucy Bronze attacking, but don't want to lose the defensive side so we put Jess Carter there.

We want to see Lauren James express herself, so we put Katie Zelem behind her.

We want to get the best out of Alessia Russo, so we put Lauren Hemp up with her.

Lauren James has been magnificent. To take that goal away from her is criminal. Can someone please explain the offside rule to me again? Confused of Oxford.

    Elliot, Oxford

However you interpret the rules that decision is just plain bad.

  8. 'Bright has been phenomenal'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    HT: China 0-3 England

    Gilly Flaherty
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Millie Bright has had an incrdible first half.

I like her in the back three. She suits the middle role because she is able to be front footed and still have the protection of the two centre backs either side of her.

She's been absolutely phenomenal tonight for England.

  9. 'England putting themselves in a great position'published at 13:00 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    HT: China 0-3 England

    Ellen White
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

England seem like they are having fun and putting themselves in a great position going into the knockout rounds.

John: Are they making up new offside rules. Bronze establishes herself back onside clearly. What are they doing?

Paul: Ludicrous decision to disallow that. Bronze isnt in an offside position during the second phase. Awful officiating.

Kris: Poor decision there. Bronze obviously offside, but doesn’t interact with play until another phase of play, where she is then onside. Don’t understand how that can be disallowed.

That blistering first half from England has put them in total control at the top of Group D.

They're set to play Nigeria in the round of 16 on Monday.

As things stand Denmark would play hosts Australia on the same day.

  12. James is running the show... againpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    HT: China 0-3 England

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Hindmarsh Stadium

That was an excellent first half from England. The boos were as loud as I've heard them after that Lauren James goal was ruled out because her performance deserved to let that stand.

But there was a very generous applause from the England fans at the whistle. They are cruising into the last 16 unless China can produce a remarkable second-half turnaround.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    China 0-3 England

Goals from Alessia Russo, Lauren Hemp and Lauren James have England in complete control, with James getting assists for the other two goals as well.

James was then denied a wonderful fourth, with Lucy Bronze ruled as interfering when coming back from an offside position.

Nevertheless, a perfect half from the Lionesses who are storming through into the last 16.

  14. 'Gutted'published at 12:55 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    China 0-3 England

    Emma Hayes
    Chelsea manager on ITV1

Gutted. I thought it hit the back of the Chinese defender. That is why I'm unclear.

  15. 'Too nice not to count'published at 12:54 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    China 0-3 England

    Karen Bardsley
Former England and Manchester City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Not having that. Sarina Wiegman agrees with me. Aesthetically that was just too nice not to count.

  16. 'A travesty'published at 12:54 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    China 0-3 England

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Hindmarsh Stadium

That is one of the best goals I have seen at a World Cup that isn't going to count. For the sake of football (and not just because I'm English), that's a travesty.

  17. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    China 0-3 England

Lauren James' strike doesn't count as Lucy Bronze is judged as interfering when coming back from an offside position.

Back to 3-0. James denied a second, England denied a fourth.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

    Haiti 0-1 Denmark

In Group D's other game Pernille Harder's penalty is the difference at the break.

Denmark are joining England in the last 16 as things stand, but Haiti have had chances and could make things interesting in the second half.

  19. Postpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 1 August 2023

We have a check for offside. Lauren James waits to see if she has two goals and two assists.

  20. goal

GOAL - China 0-4 Englandpublished at 45+5 mins

    Lauren James

    Another magical goal from England.

Lauren James sees a cross headed clear by Chen Qiaozhu, but England come again as Lucy Bronze slides it back to James, who curls it into the net from 20 yards out.

    Great strike.

But will it count? VAR are interested...
