It hasn't been Manchester City at their very best but it's a great run from Akanji. Rodri is so cool and composed. He bends the ball around two defenders.

Manchester City have lacked composure in the final third. Not then.

    WE HAVE LIFT-OFF!!!

Manchester City are 22 minutes away from the Treble.

Manuel Akanji plays the ball through to Bernardo Silva, who cuts it back into the middle of the box. There are no defenders around and it comes to Rodri, who pings the ball into the bottom corner from 16 yards.

Cark: If it makes City fans feel better United played awful for 89 minutes in 1999

James: I was looking forward to a good game of football. Not happening - by a long way.

Don: Manchester City have not been able to get into any sort of rhythm today. Inter Milan have been the better team.

There's a lot of pushing and shoving from the corner and the referee gives Inter a free-kick. A waste.

    Man City 0-0 Inter Milan

Decent break from City and John Stones' cross is put behind by Alessandro Bastoni. Corner to the double winners.

I'm worried for City. They're getting jittery. I can't remember watching a Manchester City team under Pep Guardiola where they've been so sloppy.

City have been really, really poor. They're not fluid, especially in this second half.

Dan: This is getting feisty. Robust challenges all over the place. One goal could be enough to win this.

Alan: Haaland to get the winner in the 85th minute.

Jack Grealish tries to pass the ball to John Stones, but the defender/midfielder's first touch is awful. Inter have a chance to break but decide not to.

What an opportunity. Akanji just switched off and that was the chance for Inter.

Romelu Lukaku was screaming for the ball in the middle.

A huge chance for Inter, missed.

Manuel Akanji leaves the ball to run to Ederson... but the keeper hasn't come out so he's nowhere near it. Lautaro Martinez is in but his shot is saved by Ederson at the near post. Should have done better.

It didn't happen for Dzeko and now the fresh legs of Lukaku come on. He couldn't, could he?

    Man City 0-0 Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku flicks a header on with his first touch but nothing comes of the move.

This could be his final game for Inter if they don't make his loan move from Chelsea permanent.

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport in Istanbul

There was a City attack a few minutes ago where Bernardo Silva went on the overlap against Federico Dimarco.

Rather than dive in, or get too close, Dimarco held a position slightly behind Silva, forcing the Portuguese to go on the defender's outside rather than giving him any space to check back, which is what he wanted to do.

    Silva eventually lost the ball.

    That defending was class.

Steve: Got to credit the ref. He's kept a lid on the game without resorting to yellow cards.

Daniel: How this referee hasn't shown a yellow card yet is a mystery.

Lautaro Martinez has a first-time crack from about 30 yards but it's blocked. Not a whole load of clear-cut chances for either team tonight.
