That's it from Cardiff - and that could be it for Wales' chances of qualifying for Euro 2024.

It's only the third game of the campaign but this home defeat could prove devastating to their hopes of progressing.

It had all looked to be going so well when Dan James put them ahead in the 10th minute.

But a shocking defensive display saw it all fall apart.

Harry Wilson got a second for Wales but Kieffer Moore's red card left the Dragons a man down just when they needed goals.

The Bournemouth striker will now miss Monday's trip to the new group leaders Turkey who snatched a late 3-2 win in Latvia tonight.

It's now a must-win game for Wales - and Robert Page who will no doubt face some serious questions.

So join us then and follow all the action here.

Wales need a bit more variety, Armenia fair play to them have come out and absolutely gone for it whereas Wales only have one way forward which is into the box and hit Kieffer Moore which worked for the first twenty minutes and then after that it didn't.

Armenia were clinical in front of goal and every time they came forward they looked dangerous.

Wales were really poor defensively tonight and it's been a while since I've seen Wales be that poor for that long and we're going to need to turn around quite quick.

Hopefully we can do that by next game and now we're going to be without Moore as well, but it gives the younger players and opportunity to show that they're good enough.

Wales captain Aaron Ramsey told BBC Radio Wales:

"It wasn't good enough. We were a bit naive. I can't remember the last time we conceded four goals at home and we can only apologise to the fans who turned up tonight.

"We knew they would be aggressive at the front five. We had worked on how to beat the press.

"We created opportunities to score but we conceded too many goals, which were all very similar goals, we were just too open.

"It definitely doesn't help qualification because you have to win your home games.

"We have to dust ourselves down. There are things we have to do better before we go to Turkey.

"There are still a few games to go but this one is going to hurt. We have to try and put things right and get a win on Monday."

  10. Wales struggling without Balepublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 16 June 2023

    FT: Wales 2-4 Armenia

    Nathan Blake
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

You'd think the scoreline should be the other way around, Wales 4 Armenia 2.

But Armenia have come here with no fear at all, they've played some fantastic football, they've controlled the game largely and scored some fantastic goals.

From Wales' perspective it's a reality check.

The question was there what were Wales going to do after Bale if they went one goal down.

Rob Page is going to have to be a tactical genius to get Wales above or level with where they've been in the past.

On tonight's evidence it's going to be extremely difficult.

What a game... but how damaging this is for Wales and Robert Page.

It's a hammer blow to their hopes of qualifying for a third successive European Championship.

And Page will come under some major scrutiny.
