Matt: I don't understand why everyone keeps talking about the goals record. Kane was still potentially two more seasons from breaking it. And I think everyone is in agreement that at the rate Haaland is scoring he will surpass it fairly quickly. Whereas trophies aren't taken away from you once they've been won.
Ian: Who can begrudge Kane going off to win trophies? At 30, he is right to take his chance. Different if there'd be a realistic chance of Spurs winning something, but there isn't. Ange has a lot to do to stop the club going even further in the wrong direction.
Anon: I’ve said it for long enough that Kane suits German football. Less intensity will help with his injuries. It’ll add a year or two onto his career and he could win Champions League.

The poll is still going strong and the majority of you think that Harry Kane has made the right move.
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy in Spurs' press release to announce Kane's departure:
"We sought over a long period of time to engage Harry and his representatives in several forms of contract extension, both short and long term. Harry was clear, however, that he wanted a fresh challenge and would not be signing a new contract this summer. We have reluctantly, therefore, agreed to his transfer.
“We have seen a product of our Academy system become one of the best players to ever pull on a Spurs shirt and become one of world football’s elite strikers. It has been a truly remarkable journey.
“Harry’s achievements and records say everything about the player, and throughout his 19 years at the Club, Harry has been a model professional, on and off the pitch and an inspiration for young players who dream of following in his footsteps.
"I should like to thank Harry for everything he's done for us, all the memories, all the records - we wish him and his family all the best for the future. It goes without saying, he's always welcome back. He’s a much loved and valued member of the Spurs family, forever in our history.”

Daniel: Honestly very surprised to see negativity around Richarlison being the main striker now that Kane has gone. Yes, he hasn’t performed yet but he’s barely had a crack at it? The man is Brazil’s number 9, let’s give him a chance.
Frosty: All this talk about Kane leaving. Yeah disappointed to see him go but one man doesn't make a team. We have a decent squad and hopefully Levy will invest the money to improve even more. COYS.

Gary Lineker has posted on social media:
It seems Harry Kane could well be in the Bayern squad for tonight’s DFL Super Cup. He could win more trophies in one day than he has in more than a decade at Spurs.

As a Spurs fan I’m gutted Kane is gone, Big Ange is going to struggle to replace those goals. I just hope Richarlison learns how to play football again.
Tom Pinnell, Sydney
As a Spurs fan it's a sad day but you cannot begrudge Harry his chance to play in the Champions League with Bayern. I hope he returns and takes the goal scoring record too as he would deserve it. Not sure how to feel.
Keith
Wish Kane all the best at Bayern. As a long time Spurs fan, somewhat used to seeing our best move on, but this one really hurts! Kane could have and the club should have done better.
