    FT: Fulham 0-3 Brentford

Brentford scored three goals but they also looked strong defensively. A real positive to see players such as Ethan Pinnock doing well at the highest level, a great story from non-league to the Premier League. Not easy but it can be done.

Re: Callum 16:51 I dread to think how much sooner Leicester would have been relegated had they gotten rid of Maddison and Barnes last season. That's not to say that the recruitment system at the club isn't poor, much like Southampton, and dare I say it, United, who have a habit of holding onto dead wood for far too long. I have a little faith with Brighton, however. As long as good players arrive, de Zerbi can work wonders.

    Callum

Brighton recruit better than Southampton and there's no chance of our ownership changing, so can't see us following them at all.

    Joe

To all the doubters that Brighton are a selling club just look at results Our scouting team is amazing and look at the players, the team, the performances Also look at the players that Brighton have sold in the last 3 years How many have lived up to their hype??Have faith. We have a superb chairman, a wonderful stadium, a brilliant manager, fab team solidarity.

An important three points for Liverpool.

They took a while to get going, but they showed real urgency. I thought the McAllister sending off was a shocking decision.

They've had to work hard for this.

  4. Is Wissa the answer for Brentford?published at 16:59 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    FT: Fulham 0-3 Brentford

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Craven Cottage

There was so little between the teams until that Issa Diop error.

Two goals in two games at the start of the new season for Yoane Wissa too.

It might convince Thomas Frank that he doesn’t need to dip into the market to find a replacement for Ivan Toney’s goals.

    Fulham 0-3 Brentford

The final whistle goes and it's a good victory for Brentford at neighbours Fulham, Bryan Mbeumo with two goals.

But Fulham will have something to say about that penalty and red card.

    Wolves 1-4 Brighton

A fantastic day for Brighton as they score four goals away to win and go top of the Premier League, albeit in these very early stages of the season.

One to forget for Wolves as they lose and were also reduced to 10 men late on.

    Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth were given hope when Alexis Mac Allister was sent off but Diogo Jota stomped on that almost immediately.

After that, it was a master class in game management from the home side.

Fulham's Harry Wilson takes a clearance straight to the face and goes down. But he's up before any physios are called upon.

    Not long to go.

  10. 'A total head loss from Nunes'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Wolves 1-4 Brighton

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

Now that is what you call a head loss!

Nunes goes after Webster, Estupinan gets in the way, so he shoves Estupinan over Webster - I don't know what he is doing there.

95th minute, no need for that, and now he misses the next game.

Another fine save from Alisson - this time diving to his left to tip the ball wide - denies Hamed Traore what would have been a fine goal at the end of a weaving run.

    Fulham 0-3 Brentford

There is a quick VAR check to see if Brentford should have a penalty for handball but it's not given.

Three goals probably enough for the Bees.

  13. 'Brentford have found their scoring touch'published at 16:53 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Fulham 0-3 Brentford

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

You felt as though early on in the game Brentford lacked a bit of a clinical edge.

But they took advantage of a poor mistake in the Fulham defence and they have found their scoring touch since.

Brentford have produced the perfect away performance, they have looked calm in possession and dangerous on the break, a superb start to the season for Thomas Frank and his men.

  15. RED CARD FOR WOLVESpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Wolves 1-4 Brighton

The day gets worse for Wolves as Matheus Nunes is sent off!

Already booked, Nunes shoves over a Brighton player in frustration as the hosts try to get another goal back.

They are losing and now a man down.

0-3 down, a red card and a 'Here we go!' for Aleksandar Mitrovic's move away from the club.

It has been just a terrible afternoon for the home fans at Craven Cottage.

Rob: Mitoma - next Brighton player to leave? (probably to Chelsea).

Re Neil 16:39 I’m not sure what else you would suggest for teams of their size. Leicester held on to players like Vardy, Maddison, Barnes and Soyuncu for too long, and now they’re in the Championship.

Just be warned Brighton, That was Saints model & we were top of the Prem less than 2years ago.

GOAL - Fulham 0-3 Brentfordpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Bryan Mbeumo (90+2 mins)

Brentford tear the 10 men apart and Bryan Mbeumo gets his second goal of the game.

Kristoffer Ajer and Rico Henry play a one-two on the right and Ajer squares it for an Mbeumo tap-in into an empty net.
