Wolves fans can see that this ain't going to work. O'Neil isn't good enough. Down by Xmas. Fosun out Now!!!! Get owners who want the club to do well.

Lots of praise for Brighton - and understandably so, but the model of buying cheap and selling developed players tends to backfire at some point - Wolves were doing the same a few years ago and eventually they just sold too much quality.

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Mathias Jensen concedes a free-kick just outside the box for fouling Harry Wilson and this is a proper shooting chance for the hosts.

    Willian stands over it.

Jam: Re VAR I'll say it again - take a leaf from cricket and other sports: a) Allow us to hear the discussion so we know WHY a decision is taken and b) Allow each team one review per game for a perceived howler, then dont review all the other stuff

Garrett: Been saying the same thing about VAR for 4 years and nothing has changed; it is more frustrating for fans when they discover it is not an issue of the referees not seeing an incident, it is that referees know the laws but don't understand the way the sport is played.

Well abysmal refereeing has ruined my FPL team and I'm sure it has for others.

    Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth

Trent Alexander-Arnold has had some strapping applied to his ankle on the Liverpool bench.

One for Jurgen Klopp to possibly clear up the details of at full time.

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Tim Ream is the 10th American to be sent off in a Premier League match, and the third for Fulham after Carlos Bocanegra in February 2004 and Antonee Robinson in January 2021.

    Wolves 1-4 Brighton

As things stand, Brighton are going to be top of the Premier League come 5pm.

A good day for Solly March to bag a double with England boss Gareth Southgate watching on...

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Yoane Wissa's work-rate and running behind the Fulham defence has been a constant. Not letting Fulham have time on the ball out of possession, and when needed making positive forward runs.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Brentford make a triple sub as Mikkel Damsgaard, Mads Roerslev and Josh Dasilva replace goalscorer Yoane Wissa, Christian Norgaard and Aaron Hickey.

It's fairly comfortable now for the Bees.

  11. 'Liverpool have shown mettle'published at 16:36 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on Final Score

Liverpool have shown a little bit of mettle, I have to say.

One of their main men gets sent off and they have taken on some messages from the manager, changed a few things and personnel.

Liverpool have played more like 'Liverpool' with ten men than they did with eleven.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth

Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a bit of a limp for a few minutes and is replaced by Joe Gomez.

Harvey Elliott is also on, for Diogo Jota.

Bournemouth send on David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly.

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Raul Jimenez bursts into the box... and then tries a rabona over everyone's head. There's a time and a place for that. And that is playing on a beach with a can of beer in your hand.

  14. Postpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Liverpool 3-1 Bournemouth

Bournemouth have just started to show some teeth in the last few minutes and so Liverpool have opted for some game management.

They're being far more conservative with possession, keeping the ball at the back and in midfield.

  15. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Fulham 0-2 Brentford

Brentford defender Aaron Hickey catches the ankles of... a ball boy behind the goal. The ball boy seems more worried about any dirt on his shoes so he's fine.

It's a corner to Brentford, which ends up in the gloves of Bernd Leno after a scramble.

Garrett: Can we PLEASE get referees in the VAR booth who know ANYTHING about playing the sport?! My word. The ball was bouncing, and Mac Allister went in side footed. It's not dangerous, it's not reckless. I wouldn't even give a yellow, and they have given a red.

Paul: Probably not a red card for Mac allister but this is where football clubs and their fans cause their own issues. A lot won’t care because of all the times those same hypocritical fans defend it when they get a ridiculous decision in their favour.

VAR needs a complete overhaul, not even 2 weeks in and they are proving themselves utterly incompetent. Copy the American model and have 2 ex refs and 3 ex players and have all 5 be VAR for the whole weekend. It can’t get worse…

What a brilliant example of a well-run football club Brighton are to watch. A joy to watch and a pragmatic no-nonsense approach in the transfer market - they have been a breath of fresh air!

Lots of anti-Daniel Levy and ENIC feeling outside The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first home game of the post-Harry Kane era. One flag delivered a twist on the club motto of "To Dare Is To Do", reading: "To Dare Is Too Dear. ENIC out."

VAR was never designed to be 100% accurate. It was designed to get rid of the howlers. There will always be contentious decisions due to the subjective nature of the decisions.

    Prav

Lot of the 'big 6' bemoaners have gone real quiet now, huh?

    Lucas

I wonder if everyone saying VAR favours the big teams are still thinking that now, after that red card. If that is a red card, they may as well ban tackling attempts.
