As a Spurs fan of some vintage, after the horror show of the last few years, this is such a lovely welcome return to attacking football. There will be times when this doesn't come off, and some will say it's only Burnley - but last season this would have been a scrappy 1-1 with turgid, regressive football. Feels like we've got our Tottenham back.

    Tattz

Trying to not get too over excited about Spurs' start to the season, and Ange-ball. It's been great so far, and definitely exciting, however, except for Brentford, we've only played the league's weaker teams (no, not forgetting about Man U lol)

What a contrast at Burnley with the optimism of last year. The gulf in class between championship and PL is getting wider.

    Alan

It was obvious Burnley would struggle this season. They can't dominate possession against Premier League teams like they did in the Championship and they have no plan B

Former Brighton striker on Final Score

Fulham were difficult to break down for a long time this afternoon.

City went ahead and they hit straight back, but the goal before half time was the real sticking point.

A ridiculous decision from the VAR and Michael Oliver has gotten the flack for it from Marco Silva.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Save!

Fulham continue to plug away and Raul Jimenez is a smart save away from a first Cottagers goal. He turns sharply and shoots, but Ederson pushes the effort away.

Poch needs time and patience. No manager in football history could turn around a club in less than a month. It’s the players that also need to step up! They’re the ones on the pitch not Poch.

Re 16.31 - as a lifelong Chelsea fan of over 60 years I couldn’t agree more! We should’ve learned from the sacking of Mourinho (twice) and Tuchel - how long before Poch joins them??

Brentford boss Thomas Frank can't believe what he is seeing. Moments after they hit the post AGAIN, his team are behind.

Rico Henry's mistake allows Bournemouth substitute Marcus Tavernier a run at goal and he slides a pass into David Brooks, who composed as you like, feints to shoot and then rolls the ball past a couple of retreating home defenders into the net.

    Brentford 1-1 Bournemouth

Keane Lewis-Potter, who is not long on for Kevin Schade, somehow hits the post as Bryan Mbeumo's effort cannons off his thigh a few yards out.

Bournemouth keeper Neto knew nothing about that.

Keeper Neto comes to Bournemouth's rescue as he palms a Ben Mee header to safety. That looked like it was on it's way towards the top corner.
