    Man City 2-1 Fulham

Nathan Ake heads the goal from a corner, but VAR are involved because Manuel Akanji is offside as he steps over the ball.

The question is whether the defender is blocking the keeper's view and influencing play?

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Burnley 1-2 Tottenham

Lyle Foster put Burnley ahead after only four minutes, but Son Heung-min equalised 12 minutes later before Cristian Romero's delightful strike in first-half injury-time gave Ange Postecoglou's side the lead at the break.

    Good game this one.

From a corner the ball makes its way through the box and the ball falls to Romero on the edge of the box.

He whips across it, off the post and into the corner. Best strike of the day so far.

I'm happy that has been given, a super strike that didn't deserve to be ruled out by millimeters.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Man City 1-1 Fulham

Erling Haaland has barely been in the game. But as he showed with the City goal, he only needs one moment to make a difference.

Antonee Robinson adds his name to the ref's notebook as he looses control of the ball and goes through Manuel Akanji.

    Chelsea 0-0 Nottingham Forest

  8. Postpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Chelsea 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Thiago Silva goes down in the Forest box from the slightest of touches at a free-kick. Absolutely nothing in that at all.

GOAL - Burnley 1-2 Tottenhampublished at 45+1 mins

    Cristian Romero (Tottenham)

The ball was struck into the net beautifully from 20 yards out by Cristian Romero, with the ball going in off the angle of post and bar.

There was a VAR check for a potential offside and a potential foul, neither given, goal stands. Tottenham lead.

  10. Postpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Man City 1-1 Fulham

Kenny Tete is fine to carry on and returns to the pitch as the board goes up to show five added minutes. City fans boo. They clearly feel there should be more.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Chelsea 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Conor Gallagher now picks up a yellow for chopping down Ola Aina as the Forest defender raced forward down the left.

It's all gone a little scrappy at the minute not that Forest will mind.

  12. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Man City 1-1 Fulham

Phil Foden whips in the City free-kick and Kenny Tete heads clear before dropping to the turf. The ref is obliged to stop the game here, much to the frustration of the home fans.

Fulham are getting under their skin.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

It's getting a bit naughty. Tottenham's James Maddison is chopped down by a late sliding lunge from Johann Gudmundsson. Yellow.

    Chelsea 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi finds out that Taiwo Awoniyi isn't a man to tangle with as the Nigerian levers him off the ball.

It's a foul but can't imagine the former Monaco man will try to nip in front of the Forest forward like that again.

    Make that two yellows now.

Issa Diop blocks Jeremy Doku as he tries to beat him just outside the box on the left. Card out.

  16. Fulham slowing the game downpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Man City 1-1 Fulham

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Fulham are using the type of time-wasting tactics FIFA president Gianni Infantino has been keen to get rid of.

They fumble about when it comes to returning the ball at a free-kick, pretending to trip over the ball as they go past.

Ruben Dias just barged into a Fulham player as he tried to get the ball back to take a free-kick.

It will be interesting to see how much time Michael Oliver adds on.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Burnley 1-1 Tottenham

Tottenham Dejan Kulusevski gets a booking for a pull-back on the dangerous-looking Luca Koleosho, a really tricky, skilful 18-year-old winger, who is eligible for the United States, Italy and Canada and really impressing here.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Man City 1-1 Fulham

Tim Ream is having a fine game. Not only did he bag the equaliser, he's also picking the perfect spots to be to halt City on the charge.

Rodri gets the first booking of the game for a foul on Luke Harris. First little sign of frustration from the home side.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Chelsea 0-0 Nottingham Forest

Ola Aina goes in the referee's book for a little pull on Raheem Sterling.

Not really too much in that at all but the Forest defender gets a yellow.
