Every Fulham supporter has been given a scarf to twirl around their heads as this afternoon the club pay their respects to former owner Mohammed Al Fayed.

On early viewing, it looks like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are playing deep, with Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes further forward.

That means a lot of running for full-backs Diogo Dalot and Sergio Reguilon, who will be asked to supply the width to Manchester United's attacks.

Mason Mount is in the directors' box, as is fellow new arrival Sofyan Amrabat. Both are missing through injury today.

    Fulham 0-0 Luton

Fulham have been pressing high with Luton pegged back, but the visitors have the first chance of the game on the break as Tahith Chong races from deep inside his own half into the home side's area, but his low shot towards the near post is saved.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Man Utd 0-0 Brighton

An early booking for Brighton's Tariq Lamptey who's late on Diogo Dalot. Not the start he'd have wanted.

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield Utd

Sheffield United have also started well and pump the ball into the Tottenham box with a long throw.

Spurs stopper Guglielmo Vicario confidently claims the looping ball and sprints to the top of his box to start off an attack.

    West Ham 0-0 Man City

Bright start by Manchester City, as you'd expect. Phil Foden gets to the by-line and pulls the ball back but West Ham manage to deal with the danger.

  7. 'We changed pretty much everything in the second-half'published at 15:03 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

    Wolves 1-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to BBC Sport: "We have to play better than we did in the first-half. We did in the second which was the best moment to react. In the first half we had some problems physically, we weren't sharp, we weren't right. We tried to find out who's ready (after the international break) and it was not a perfect choice. The best news was it was over and I thought we cannot play worse. That's why we changed pretty much everything in the second-half, tactically and physically.

"Second-half we controlled it completely and it was a really good game then. We deserved to win in the end that's clear. We scored the equaliser, kept controlling, kept trying and won the game which was massive for us."

On the impact from the bench: "Quality on the bench helps massively. Quality on the pitch was very good too even thought the boy struggled to show it. I am happy with the squad we have."

On Liverpool coming from behind to win again: "It's really early days in the season but we need to take all the information we get. Turning game around is helpful in a season but we cannot rely on it, we cannot.

"We have to play better in the first half of games generally. We are not stable yet, that is not possible. Too many things are new. I am ready to work on that and the boys are too. They did not want to wave the white flag and that is good. When you win the lesser good games you can have a good season. The boys reacted really well."

    FT: Wolves 1-3 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to TNT Sports: "The good thing about the first half is that it was so bad we couldn't play that bad in the second half. We had low energy level, some others as well. We changed the system and one player and it was a bit more speed up front, natural speed. We controlled the game better. We changed everything at half-time.

"The first half was really bad, the second half was really good. A massive three points. The truth as well is Wolves caused us so many problems. We were not able to close the gaps."

On Liverpool's strength and depth: "We have a good squad, no about it. We had a super strong bench today. There's quality, no doubt about it. But even with quality you can play badly, that's what we did in the first half. So now we have a day of rest and prepare for the Europa League.

On Andy Robertson's goal: "Andy hasn't scored that many goals so nice for him. He's super consistent over the years. A top bloke, a good guy. And a world-class left-back - not every day, but often. The goal was exceptional. In the first half that would never have happened, Robbo appearing with a goal like that. It was still a surprise for everyone. I think Curtis Jones made his 100th game, too, and that's special as well.

On Jarell Quansah's display: "He did exceptionally well. In possession as well he was calm. It was like we had just met in the car park before the game with the organisation in the first half! But he played really well."

Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold was into the directors' box early and went across to some of the Brighton contingent to shake their hands.

He was chatting to someone he recognised in the seats close to the directors' box when the first 'Glazers Out' chant was heard from the tunnel area.

There is not much that can be guaranteed in a football match but I am pretty sure that will get another airing or two before the afternoon is out.

    .

Two teams who have made sure their fans have been fully entertained so far this season. They score and concede in equal measure.

Unai Emery and Roy Hodgson will both target this game for a maximum points haul. With home advantage and Villa Park crowd, I think Villa may just come out on top in this battle of the unpredictable.

Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi on new signing Ansu Fati, who is on the bench for the Seagulls today: "I want him to enjoy the game and I want to enjoy his ability.

"I don't want to put any pressure on him. He has had only had three or four training sessions.

"He can play number 9, 10 or 11 as well. He's a big talent, but I've only been working with him for a week.

"If you ask me again in one month, I can be more precise."

It is just over 60 years since George Best made his debut for Manchester United.

Best's sister and his son are at Old Trafford today and the crowd have just had a round of applause in his honour.

Some who saw him play still claim Best was the greatest player of all time.

Man Utd squad in good mood - Ten Hag

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says he does not know if Jadon Sancho will play for the club again.

The 23-year-old winger is training away from the first team after claiming he had been made a "scapegoat" following his omission from the squad for the defeat at Arsenal on 3 September.

Ten Hag said at the time he had been excluded because his training performances were below standard.

Asked if he could play for the club again, Ten Hag said: "I don't know."

"We have a big game [against Brighton], we are going into a new block of games, many games in a condensed programme. I focus on that.

"He is not available, so in this moment, he is not important, because he can't contribute."

  19. A strong start for West Hampublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 16 September 2023

West Ham v Man City (15:00 BST)

West Ham's tally of 10 points is their joint-highest after four matches of a Premier League campaign. On the previous occasion, in 1999-2000, they beat Watford in their fifth game.

A fourth straight league win on Saturday would equal their best run under David Moyes across his two spells in charge.

The Hammers are vying to win four successive Premier League home fixtures for the first time since March to May 2002 at Upton Park.

Confidence runs high in the stands at West Ham. Three wins and a draw from their opening four has fans believing the improbable.

"Why can't we beat City?" Seems to be the vibe here. One fan pointed out they thumped Brighton 3-1 even though their opponents had almost 80% of the ball - which you'd expect City will do today.

Also bumped into these four lads from Czechia - they're here on a football pilgrimage. First PL game and they're happy Czech pair Coufal and Soucek are in the West Ham starting XI.
