    Plymouth 0-0 Southampton

Good play from Southampton who cruise toward the Plymouth box but Argyle have enough players back to repel the visitors and launch their own counter-attack.

Joe Edwards brings the ball forward across halfway and into the final third with plenty of space.

But he doesn't have many options around him and shoots from distance but it's easily charged down by Saints.

Plymouth's dangerman Bali Mumba feeds Kaine Kesler-Hayden on the nearside edge of the Southampton box.

But Saints defender Jan Bednarek comes sliding in to make a crucial challenge and play the ball out for a corner.

The Pilgrims are working this left side nicely and are really keeping the visitors on their toes.

Wigan have doubled their lead over Bolton and it's Stephen Humphrys who is on target.

Bolton came into this game with a 100% start after their first four games in all competitions, including three League One victories, but that is facing a stern test now.

More stats? Oh go on then ....

Plymouth are undefeated through two home games already this season (including an EFL Cup tie) and they haven’t lost at Home Park since the beginning of April last season.

Their record in front of their home fans is incredible.

They only lost two league games at home last season, scoring 44 times and conceding just 16 in the process.

The game has calmed down in front of both goals at the minute.

Instead, we have some hacking and tumbling around midfield.

Fifteen minutes or so left of this entertaining first half.

    Ryan Dickson
Former Plymouth and Southampton defender on BBC Radio Devon

    It's been fast and furious.

Not a lot of chances on goal, but the game in general has been high-quality, exciting and energetic.

As the game goes on the sides won't be able to keep up this tempo - it's impossible.

This is the first league meeting between Plymouth and Southampton since the 2010-11 season.

The last time the two sides met was at Home Park and the visitors won 3-1.

If Saints claim victory today it would be the first time they’ve won successive away league matches against the Pilgrims since April 1932.

    Southampton on the counter-attack.

Sam Edozie on the far right side, feeds a low pass to Che Adams in the middle of the Plymouth box, who offloads another pass to Nathan Tella at the near post.

But he is off-balance and scuffs his shot on goal.

    Best chance of the game.

We are end-to-end at the moment.

A bit like a basketball game.

Who is going to break the deadlock? There are definitely goals in this game.

Bali Mumba is causing problems for Southampton.

The Plymouth full-back is so quick down the near left side.

With the ball at his feet, on the edge of the Saints box, he crosses over to get the ball onto his right foot and pops off a shot which is charged down by Saints defenders.

Here come Plymouth at the other end.

A dangerous cross is whipped in low from the near left side but there's no Argyle green shirts in the box to get on the end of it.

    Cleared by Saints.

Southampton's captain Jack Stephens feeds a through ball to Adam Armstrong in a central position just eight yards outside the Plymouth box.

The striker runs on to the ball and fires a half volley on goal but it sails over.

    Not a bad effort.

    Tale of the Tape.

Plymouth: 4th in the Championship, undefeated so far with one win and one draw, scored three and conceded one and haven’t lost at home yet.

Southampton: 6th in the Championship, undefeated so far with one win and one draw, scored six and conceded five and haven’t lost away yet.

You couldn’t get a cigarette paper (or baking paper, square of loo roll) between these two teams.
