Ouch. Aaron Ramsey is clattered by Leo Hjelde, who is fortunate to escape a booking.
Welcome to the Championship, as they say.
Leeds United 0-0 Cardiff City
Daniel James, formerly of Swansea City, is booed by Cardiff City's fans as he tries to make ground down the left.
It will be interesting to see how the Wales winger adapts to life back in the Championship, where he was electric for Swansea.

Cardiff defender Perry Ng handles the ball, though it was accidental and no free-kick is given.
The home crowd are unimpressed.

A lively start. Luis Sinisterra thumps into an early challenge as both sets of fans make themselves heard.
As at so many grounds this weekend, pre-season optimism reigns.
Leeds United 0-0 Cardiff City
We are off and running at Elland Road.
Let's see if this game can match what we saw at Leicester earlier for entertainment value.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Ethan Ampadu is one of only three new signings at Leeds so far this summer, with goalkeeper Karl Darlow arriving from Newcastle and Sam Byram returning to his former club on a one-year deal this week.
After a number of notable exits following relegation, Daniel Farke is hoping there will be plenty more deals done before the transfer window closes.
"We're working hard. We're realistic and we all know we need to strengthen the squad, more or less, in all areas," Farke said.
Cardiff boss Erol Bulut, meanwhile, says he is hoping for "one or two more" signings after what has already been a busy summer.
As well as Aaron Ramsey, Cardiff have brought in the likes of Yakou Meite, Karlan Grant and Josh Bowler, having lost influential loan signings Cedric Kipre, Jaden Philogene and Sory Kaba at the end of last season.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Midfielder Archie Gray is handed a senior debut by Leeds boss Daniel Farke this afternoon.
Gray, 17, is the latest member of the family to represent Leeds at first-team level, following on from his father Andy, grandfather Frank and great uncle Eddie.
Quite a dynasty, that.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Long-serving Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ralls is convinced Aaron Ramsey can have a major impact in 2023-24.
In fact, Ralls says, Ramsey could help the Bluebirds push for a return to the Premier League, where they last played in 2019.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
These two clubs have not been in the same division since Leeds won the Championship title in 2019-20, but they did meet last season.
Leeds needed a stoppage-time equaliser from Sonny Perkins to avoid an FA Cup third-round defeat at the Cardiff City Stadium in January.
Wilfried Gnonto then starred in the Elland Road replay, scoring twice as Leeds triumphed 5-2 against a Cardiff side who were led by interim boss Dean Whitehead, following Mark Hudson's sacking.

Aaron Ramsey is not the only Wales international making his debut for a new club this afternoon, of course, with Ethan Ampadu looking to make a name for himself at Leeds United.
Ampadu, Daniel Farke's first Leeds signing, arrived from Chelsea for a reported fee of £7m plus add-ons last month.
The midfielder or defender was on loan with Serie A club Spezia last season.
It was the latest in a line of loan spells for a player who will now attempt to make a home for himself at Leeds - and who has the potential to be a key figure at this level.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Cardiff City made one of the most eye-catching Championship signings in recent memory when former Arsenal and Juventus signed a two-year deal with the Welsh club last month.
Wales captain Ramsey, who was a free agent after a season with French side Nice, is back for a third spell at Cardiff, the club where he started his career.
If he can stay fit for the majority of the notoriously rigorous Championship season, the 32-year-old will surely be a huge influence for Erol Bulut's team.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Just like Leeds, Cardiff City had three bosses last season.
Steve Morison was sacked after only 10 Championship games and replacement Mark Hudson was sacked in January.
Cardiff then turned to Sabri Lamouchi, who gained enough points to keep the club in the Championship but failed to agree an extension to his short-term deal come the end of a fairly bleak campaign.
And so the Bluebirds turned to former Fenerbahce boss Erol Bulut, whose task will be to improve - considerably - on last May's 21st-placed Championship finish.
"Our ambitions have to be high, I put always my target on the highest level, I was always like this, so at least we will know what we are fighting for," Bulut said.
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce all had stints in charge at Elland Road last season as Leeds' three-year spell in the Premier League came to an end.
Daniel Farke is the man the Whites have turned to as they look to make an immediate return to the top flight - and the German knows how to get out of the second tier.
Farke twice won the Championship title at Norwich City, in 2019 and 2021, and the bookmakers have Leeds as one of the favourites for the title this season.
"I knew what a massive club this was and the expectations that come with it," said Farke, who was handed a four-year deal last month.
"The first game is always exciting and at Elland Road, it will be even more special. Now the real stuff begins and we are all looking forward to it."
Leeds United v Cardiff City (14:30 BST)
And so to Yorkshire, where Leeds United begin life back in the Championship this afternoon against Cardiff City.
There will be new bosses in both dugouts, with Daniel Farke looking to inspire a Leeds revival following last season's relegation from the Premier League and Erol Bulut aiming to rejuvenate Cardiff following their Championship struggles last term.
The 2022-23 campaign was not much fun for either of these clubs.
It is not easy to predict what this season will bring for either club, but a positive start would be welcome for both.

No time to waste.
We're going from the East Midlands to West Yorkshire, from one relegated team to another.
Leicester have got their return to the EFL off to a winning start, can Leeds do the same?
Here's Gareth Vincent to lead you through all the build-up and match action from Elland Road.

Any neutral would say Coventry deserved to come away with something.
Coventry have gone toe-to-toe with a team that have been relegated from the Premier League.
Apart from the two goals and the Kasey McAteer chance just before half-time, Cov were the better team for me.

What a game.
I thought it wasn't going to be Leicester's afternoon when they went behind and they didn't fold like they did in pre-season.
The second half performance from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. He delivered magnificently as he drove the team forward, not just with the two goals.
We're buzzing to get off the mark in this M69 derby. It's a great first win of the season.
Leicester 2-1 Coventry
Leicester come from behind thanks to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's double to claim an opening day win in a brilliantly entertaining encounter.
This really was a superb advert for second tier football in this country between two teams who I suspect will be right at the top end of the table come May.
In truth it was quite a quiet opening 45 minutes, with Leicester enjoying the majority of the ball but failing to really create a clear chance.
The game came to life after the break though as Kyle McFadzean headed the away side into the lead.
Thereafter the Sky Blues looked much the better side and maybe should have made it 2-0.
However, they didn't and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall levelled with a fine header.
Cov debutant Haji Wright then rattled the bar, via a top save from Mads Hermansen in the Leicester goal.
Moments later, Dewsbury-Hall won it with a great strike from inside the area.
A winning start for new Leicester boss Enzo Maresca then but Mark Robins will have seen enough from his side to give him confidence for the months ahead.
Leicester 2-1 Coventry
This would be HUGE for Leicester's confidence.
It's one thing to win your opening game after relegation but to come from behind with 20 minutes to go, having been on the ropes? That's massive.
