Alexia Putellas used her body really well and managed to turn but maybe not enough contact.

One angle looked like it was a penalty but from the other angle it wasn't enough.

This is a bit more of a concern for Costa Rica because Daniela Solera is still down injured. They will be hoping it is nothing more than cramp as she could be pivotal in their two remaining group games.

Changes for Costa Rica as Alexandra Pinell is on for Gloriana Villalobos while 16-year-old forward Sheika Scott replaces María Salas.

You can see that Costa Rica have really worked on the organisation defensively, they have been quite good at that.

Amelia Valverde has clearly worked a lot on that in training.

Teresa Abelleira whips in a dangerous-looking free-kick from the left but Costa Rica's defence is set up well for the set-piece and is able to clear.

Spain aren't quite as fluid in the second half.

Spain are third favourites to win the Women's World Cup so while Costa Rica have been second best they can take some confidence that, so far, they have kept the scoreline at 3-0 and had a couple of moments on the break themselves.

Spain have had 38 attempts on goal but just 10 on target.

They are winning and winning comfortably but you'd imagine coach Jorge Vilda will be disappointed his side has not been even more clinical.

Spain make a double change as Esther Gonzalez and Athenea del Castillo are replaced by Alba Redondo and Mariona Caldentey come on.

Redondo is immediately into the action as she sends a shot just wide.

Some cheers from the stands as Costa Rica win their first corner of the match after a quick break.

Captain Katherine Alvarado sends the ball into the middle of the box but Jenni Hermoso heads clear.

And another save by Daniela Solera to tip over a header from the corner.

Daniela Solera may have conceded three goals but I think she can be very happy with her individual performance. She has made some important saves to keep the scoreline down and she denies Olga Carmona's shot from distance with a diving save.

Spain are playing with real confidence now and Jenni Hermoso produces some wonderful skill down by the corner flag to flick the ball through Fabiola Villalobos' legs before getting the cross in, but Esther González shoots wide.
