Lovely work by Salma Paralluelo as she glides past a defender just inside the box. She digs out a cross to find Aitana Bonmatí, who goes for goal with an overhead kick that is scrambled away before the whistle goes for an offside.

If Costa Rica win the ball back, Spain will just play around them because they have the pace and the quality.

That was unlucky for Olga Carmona, she just clipped the top of the bar.

    Spain 3-0 Costa Rica

Costa Rica definitely appear to be playing with a higher line and it almost catches them out as Spain break quickly and Olga Carmona skims the top of the bar with a shot from range.

Better from Costa Rica as Katherine Alvarado wins the ball high up and sends Mélissa Herrera away down the right. Herrera crosses but can't pick out a team-mate in the box.

Amelia Valverde will probably want a bit more quality from her Costa Rica team when they go forward.

You do want to commit more players forward but you know that is just going to play into Spain's hands with the quality they have.

You don't want it to be a really big score line. You want to keep that confidence and a little bit of momentum going into those games.

The pattern continues from the first half as Spain stay on the front foot. Teresa Abelleira strikes a low effort that takes a slight deflection but it is a comfortable save for Daniela Solera.

It will be interesting to see how this second half pans out. Will Spain go for more goals, will they get some minutes in the legs of some of their substitutes, or will Costa Rica stage an unlikely comeback?

    We are back under way.

It's really difficult because the Spanish team are so dominant on the ball.

It's just a matter of damage limitation. If Costa Rica can get back to the opening 20 minutes of the match, that would be good.

    Steph Houghton
Manchester City defender on BBC Two

Costa Rica did really well at the start but as the game went on, Spain's quality shone through.

They tried to find the space on the outside and overload Costa Rica and get those crosses in.

Spain make it difficult to mark people because they make so many movements and there are so many people making so many different movements, it is not necessarily just the attacking players.

Once Costa Rica conceded, it became very disheartening for them and then it was goal after goal.

They had a back five and a really narrow midfield four. They wanted to defend crosses and stop Spain going in between the lines.

They did really well in the first 20 minutes.

Teresa Abelleira is pulled back as she tries to break forward and Spain have a free kick. It is played low into the box and there's half a shout for a penalty before Costa Rica get rid of the ball.

That's probably the last opportunity of the half.

More positive play from Costa Rica, committing a couple of players forward. You can't fault their effort or endeavour.
