This is cheeky, a little cheeky flick just looking for that far corner and Esther Gonzalez just couldn't find the back of the net.

Another good move by Spain, this time down the right as Athenea del Castillo is played onside and she swings the ball in behind the defence but Esther Gonzalez flicks an effort just wide.

Nice, quick passing by Spain as they work the ball forward before Aitana Bonmatí sends a volley just wide for the first shot on goal.

When you are sitting so deep like Costa Rica, when you do hit Spain on the counter, you've got to try to commit players forward.

Costa Rica do manage to embark on a first attack now as Priscila Chinchilla gets the ball out on the left. She has no support so tries to juggle the ball between two Spain players, but can't get through.

This is attack versus defence at the moment.

Attacking the flanks is definitely the focus for Spain with Costa Rica packing out the middle of the pitch. Salma Paralluelo has another chance to go for goal soon after but, again, opts not to.
