Colombia have certainly won the tactical battle, and it is for Germany to improve.

As a coach I always enjoy these games. I know for the viewer at home they may not be enjoying it as much.

Colombia's have been very compact, difficult to break down, and have forced Germany to think a lot.

It's tight, tense and testy.

Merle Frohms does well to punch away the corner at her near post. She takes a late blow, too, to receive a foul.

The half will end with a Colombia corner.

A shot on target from Alexandra Popp. It is from range, though, and lacks the precision and power to cause Catalina Perez too many problems.

As they have for much of the half, Germany are the side looking to make something happen. Colombia are holding firm, though.

Ambitious from Lorena Bedoya Durango. She punts a shot towards goal from 25 yards and it floats over, clipping the netting on top as it dips.

Great give and go from Magull and Oberdorf and you're at least expecting Popp to hit the target.

Massive chance!

Lina Magull tries to work a ball into the middle and a Colombian touch takes the ball to exactly the player they don't want.

Alexandra Popp is in space in the box, on a slight angle. She opts to volley but clears the bar. She usually buries those.

Much better from Colombia.

A forced forward ball from Germany and Colombia manage to work the ball better into Caicedo's feet.

They want her to be getting into those positions [high up field] more often.

Germany simply not being allowed to settle. The defenders want a touch and a chance to set the pace, but the Colombian forwards are not having it.

Good reaction from Frohms.

I don't think anyone was expecting the cross to actually come in there.

Merle Frohms has to be sharp to get out to a low cross from Mayra Ramirez. Catalina Usme was sniffing for any hint of a shot.

There’s a strange lack of rhythm to this match so far.

There's been passages of rapid end-to-end football followed by injury stoppages and a fair amount of standing around for the players. I wonder who that will favour more?
