  1. Thank you and goodbye

That is all from us as regards live coverage of the Women's World Cup for today.

The quarter-finals are now in shape. Colombia are through and will face England in the last eight, where we also see France take on Australia.

You can read all about this and more on the site and then be sure to join us again on Friday for Spain v Netherlands and Japan v Sweden.

  2. 'Dominant display but more intensity needed against Aussies'

    FT: France 4-0 Morocco

    Fara Williams

Former England midfielder on BBC One

France were the better team. A dominant performance. A clean sheet going into the quarter-final.

It was always going to be difficult for Morocco to block out the strengths of France, particularly down the wings.

It proved costly for Morocco, they were able to defend the goals from the wide areas.

France will have to up their intensity against Australia, this was probably the lowest intensity game of the round.

They need to up their levels against Australia who will bring it and then some on Saturday.

    Geyoro ponders on the ball.

  4. 'Morocco must be so proud of this team'

    FT: France 4-0 Morocco

    Ellen White

Former England striker on BBC One

This Moroccan team can be so proud.

What they have achieved in this tournament, the visibility they have brought, their whole nation must be so proud.

They will be proud of each other and themselves as individuals.

To win two straight games and get two clean sheets [at the end of the group stage] is great.

They just didn't have the quality going forward today.

Morocco players stand and take in the applause from the fans.
  5. 'France showed they are level above'

    FT: France 4-0 Morocco

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

France have shown that they have developed relationships within this tournament, and rhythm in their play.

They have shown that they are a level beyond this Morocco side, who are still new at this level.

Le Sommer runs away from a Moroccan defender.
  6. Post update

    FT: France 4-0 Morocco

Not a hint of sadness in the Morocco fans in the stands. They're on their feet, singing and waving national flags. Proud.

  7. FULL-TIME

    France 4-0 Morocco

A very impressive France advance to face co-hosts Australia in the last eight. That will be some tie, between two sides starting to hit their stride.

Morocco depart but with heads held high.

France players celebrate in front of their fans at full time.
Benzina's face is soaked with tears as she sits on the bench at full time.
  8. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

It's a great luxury as a manager in these tournaments to give all your players a run out.

Gets them up to speed, minutes in the legs.

Herve Renard high fives Le Sommer after she is subbed off.
  9. SUBSTITUTION

    France 4-0 Morocco

Late changes in injury time for France.

Aissatou Tounkara is on for France in place of Kadidiatou Diani, while Viviane Asseyi comes on for Sakina Karchaoui.

  10. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

Morocco have four more minutes of their World Cup campaign to enjoy (or is it endure?).

  11. 'El Haj lucky again'

    France 4-0 Morocco

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

The referee's eyes say it all there.

El Haj lucky again to get away with that challenge. More frustration creeping in to this game.

The referee stares down El Haj after another risky challenge.
  12. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

Hanane Ait El Haj is a lucky, lucky, lucky lass. She is on a yellow and flies in for another late tackle. It's a bookable offence for sure but the referee is lenient. The look from the official says it all, though - don't test me again!

El Haj clatters into Karchaoui yet again near the touchline.
  13. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

A rare moment of concern for France as a Morocco free-kick is swung into the middle and nodded on. A defender is first to the loose ball to hammer it clear.

  14. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

Here is the icing on the cake for France. The goal that made it 4-0...

  15. 'Better second period for Morocco'

    France 4-0 Morocco

    Anita Asante

Former England defender on BBC One

The second half has definitely been an improved performance from Morocco.

It's great to see that they came out with more belief.

  16. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

Inside the last 10 now and this is a tame trudge towards full time. France have showed up in a big way to get the job done. Morocco have been better in this second half. Can they get a final moment to go home off the back of?

Chebak and Geyoro battle for the ball.
  17. SUBSTITUTIONS

    France 4-0 Morocco

    Two more changes for France.

Naomie Feller and Estelle Cascarino are on for some minutes in place of Eugenie Le Sommer - who won't get a hat-trick - and Eve Perisset.

Simon: Whingy, petulant, moaning and not very good - Morocco getting what they deserve

  19. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

    Should be 5-0!

France fire a free-kick wide right and the ball is sent into the middle for Kadidiatou Diani, who holds off her marker and has most of the net to hammer the ball into but instead scoops her effort over the bar.

Diani holds her hands to her face after missing a guilt-edged chance.
  20. Post update

    France 4-0 Morocco

13,557 is the official attendance. It's the highest crowd at this ground in these finals.
