    Japan 0-2 Sweden

Aoba Fujino flies down the right wing and does well to get a cross in.

The ball deflects off a Swedish defender and falls to Yui Hasegawa, who slams it over the crossbar.

That has been Japan's best chance of the game.

    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

Sweden have forced Japan into errors in areas in tight areas where they are usually so adept.

Just cut down their options and shown them off the pitch on numerous occasions.

So tactically excellent. They're executing their game plan brilliantly.

You look at the sea of yellow shirts in the box, who is Jun Endo going to pick out?

It's half chances at the moment for Japan.

Sweden don't concede chances and you can see why.

    Japan 0-2 Sweden

Japan are starting to pump balls into the box now and Zecira Musovic is called to action as she punches the ball to safety.

This is better from the 2011 world champions, though, as they finally have their first attempt, but Aoba Fujino's shot goes wide.

Anon: Clearly not intentional handball, but with the way the law is written now no choice but to give a penalty.

So now 99 times out of 100 times it hits the hand/arm in the box it’s going to be a penalty, which was never the intention of the law.

Georgina: They need to sort out this handball rule, this is ridiculous! It comes off someone in front of her, her arm is near her body, where else can she put her arms? Players cannot play the whole game with their arms behind their backs. Infuriating.

Elin Rubensson and Filippa Angeldahl in front of that back four just makes it impenetrable.

Japan just cannot thread a ball through.

Another set piece is delivered in by Kosovare Asllani.

Magdalena Eriksson gets a head on it but she can't direct the ball goalward. That would have been the icing on the cake for the former Chelsea defender, who is making her 100th international appearance.

Anon: Spain were happy to concede to Japan in qualifiers, to avoid playing Sweden too early.

Japan are really going to have to shake things up if they are to get back into this match. They still haven't had an attempt on goal.

There's certainly plenty of time but the lack of opportunities that Japan have created is the real problem.

Sweden fans inside Eden Park - and there's plenty of them - are in dreamland. The Swedes needed a last-minute winner to defeat South Africa in their first match. They now have one foot in the semi-finals.

    It's everything that Sweden deserved.

Cool as you like from Filippa Angeldahl.

    Low, hard, unsaveable.

This takes Sweden into a commanding, maybe unsurmountable lead.

The inability to clear in their own six yard box has been Japan's undoing.

GOAL - Japan 0-2 Swedenpublished at 51 mins

    Filippa Angeldal

Filippa Angeldal is the player to step up and she coolly slots it low into the left corner of the net, sending Ayaka Yamashita the wrong way.

Sweden are on the verge of a World Cup semi-final.

There's no intent but it's a black and white decision.

A ball crossed in causes havoc that Japan simply cannot deal with.

    Japan 0-1 Sweden

Another fingertip save from Ayaka Yamashita denies Sweden.

The Japan keeper palms Johanna Kaneryd's strike away for a corner, which comes to nothing but the Sweden players are appealing for a handball in the box.

After a charge by Japan up the other end, referee Esther Staubli is eventually called to the monitor.
