Tried to be clever by putting Rachael Laws as my WSL Fantasy captain instead of Jill Roord. That's backfired spectacularly...

    Shaun

    Ouch.

For those who missed it, Man City midfielder Jill Roord grabbed a brace in their 5-0 thrashing of Bristol City earlier this afternoon.

    Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

Vicky Losada with a corner from the right for Brighton, who continue to put Spurs under pressure.

This one is driven in and finds the head of Madison Haley, but that's a rather poor header back towards Losada, which goes straight out for a goal kick.

    HT: Liverpool 0-1 Everton

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Everton know how to frustrate Liverpool at Anfield and they are doing so again here.

After such a bright start for the Reds, Brian Sorensen's side are playing through Liverpool's press and are controlling the midfield.

Losing Lucy Hope to injury was a blow but Everton will be pleased at half-time with a 1-0 lead having overcome that early pressure.

Meanwhile, I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Beard make an early change. Sophie Roman Haug has struggled on her debut.

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Not a bad effort from Marie Hobinger from the edge of the area but it's straight at Everton keeper Courtney Brosnan. That will be the last action of the opening 45 minutes.

    Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

Great defending from Spurs full-back Ashleigh Neville, who does just enough to prevent Lee from a clear shot at goal six yards out.

Brighton are dominating the early part of this second half.

  6. 'Liverpool short of options and creativity'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 15 October 2023

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Former Liverpool forward speaking on Sky Sports

Liverpool seem to be running out of ideas, they can't seem to be able to put even a few progressive passes together at the moment.

They started the game so full of energy and dynamism and creativity but now they look so short of options.

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Nice work from Emma Bissell but she's eventually outnumbered by red shirts and muscled off the ball just inside the penalty area.

A solid half from the visitors after having to ride that early wave.

    Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

Half a chance for the hosts as Spurs struggle to clear another cross from the right.

Madison Haley gets her shot all wrong though and it skews off the side of her boot wide of goal.

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Liverpool's corner pretty much misses everyone in the box and there's no one on the edge of the area to get it back in. Eventually it bumbles back into the six-yard area and Courtney Brosnan is alert to it with some brave goalkeeping.

    Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

A sweeping Brighton move sees Vicky Losada ping the ball right to Katie Robinson.

The England winger scampers forward and zings a cross into the Spurs box but Madison Haley can't get any power on her header and visiting keeper Becky Spencer claims comfortably.

Marie Hobinger sends in a decent looking ball looking for Missy Bo Kearns but it's an Everton head that clears.

It comes back out to Hobinger who holds up the ball well and wins a corner.

  13. 'Role reversal since opening minutes'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 15 October 2023

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

It feels like role reversal since that start we saw to the game.

Liverpool started so confidently, pressing high and full of energy, putting Everton under pressure.

Now, particularly since the goal, it is Everton who are in the ascendancy.

It is now the home side that are missplacing passes, having loose touches and having a dip in confidence. They need to try and harness the fans, get them into this game and feed off the energy and support.

Early chance for the visitors to go ahead. Celin Bizet sees her shot block and half cleared but Drew Spence lashes her effort over from the edge of the box.

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

Liverpool win a corner with around five minutes to go until half time.

The crowd are a bit flat and the home side could do with waking them up.

  16. Triple change at the break for Brightonpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 15 October 2023

    Brighton 1-1 Tottenham

Looks like a triple change for the hosts at the break, who appear to have reorganised slightly.

Emma Kullberg, Lee Geum-min and Madison Haley are all on for the Seagulls to replace Poppy Pattinson, Maisie Symonds and goalscorer Elisabeth Terland.

    Spurs stay as they were.

  18. 'So happy to see Mead return'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 15 October 2023

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Aston Villa

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall on Beth Mead's return, speaking to BBC Sport: "That reaction we knew because she's a very loved Arsenal player. For me I'm just so happy because I've seen how hard she's worked for all these months and to see how that can bring her onto the pitch.

"I think she was quality when she came on, almost setting up Stina [Blackstenius] for a goal. Then she plays a big part in our winning goal. I'm really happy to have Beth Mead back."

On the performance: "I think the performance was strong. I think first half was a little bit strong because we basically had 100 per cent of the control but zero per cent of the goals. It was very much about how we can keep having that control, how we can put more and more pressure onto them using the crowd and our qualities. I think that was a really good foundation to do that. I think that's what the second half was about.

"What can be difficult in these games is you can start losing patience a bit or try to force things through but I think we were really methodical in the way we played, we set up a lot of good situations.

"You never know in football if you'll score or not. When you look at it as a performance as a whole I think it's a very well-deserved victory."

On the importance of the substitutions: "I always think they're key decisions. The starting 11 is one thing but the 11 that will finish the game is equally important, sometimes even more important like we saw today.

"We have some really good options, we saw a lot of players who don't come on the bench come off from the bench today.

"I'm really lucky, the team is lucky we have those options. Those players will get opportunities going forwards."

When asked if you need consistency in the squad: "I think you always need to have a balance in any team. You need to have a core of consistency so players can build some key relationships but you also need healthy competition in the squad.

"You can't feel you're too assured in your squad because then maybe you start to relax in the week and we can't allow that."

    Liverpool 0-1 Everton

    Courtney Sweetman-Kirk
Former Liverpool forward speaking on Sky Sports

The defending for the goal was so poor from Liverpool.

Sophie Roman Haug is marking Megan Finnigan but in reality she has no idea where she is, and Finnigan has all the space she wants to get on the end of the corner.

There will definitely be an inquest into that when they come to analyse things in training next week.

  20. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 15 October 2023

Teasing ball in from Taylor Hinds who was charging down the left-hand side.

No one on hand in the box for the home side, though.
