There are a few USA fans at the final and they're wearing their colours with pride.

Yani bought her ticket last October thinking the Stars and Stripes would be on the brink of a third successive world title.

She's now backing Spain to go all the way.

"I like Spain, I like their players and the way they play. They deserve this. I want them to win 2-1," she said.

Will the USA go for Sarina Wiegman now Vlatko Andonovski has departed?

"I'm not sure," adds Yani. "Whoever it is it'll be a fresh start with a new generation of players."

England defender Lucy Bronze speaking to BBC One ahead of kick-off: "I'm just enjoying the moment like I have in every game. We've played in this stadium and on this pitch two times now and once against the hosts so a lot of the girls are pretty relaxed. A lot of the girls are pretty relaxed and excited for the next 90 minutes."

On Spain's starting XI: "It's pretty much what we expected apart from Salma Paralluelo playing through the middle. I think we were prepared for that, whoever they play, whoever is picked. They've obviously got some great players, I know that better than most people so I'm excited to face them."

On Lauren James being available for selection: "Sarina [Wiegman] said it's a boost to have 23 players available for the last game, I think that's a great achievement for us. Obviously LJ has had to train hard for us this past week or so and now she is back with us, we're all excited, she's excited if she gets an opportunity tonight to show what she's been doing previously in the tournament."

On how winning the Euros last summer can help England ahead of this final: "We've got the most experience coming into this, not just our players but also our manager is the only person who's been in this position before so we can draw on the fact that we know how it goes under pressure, what it feels like, scoring goals in finals, conceding goals in finals, winning finals, I think it makes a big difference to how you start the game and hopefully it can give us that edge tonight."

Hello from Preet, Reena and Seleena, three players from Southall Athletic in West London. A part of the country used for the 2002 film, Bend It Like Beckham, directed by Gurinder Chadha.

These three have followed England for years and say it's great to have the opportunity to support the Lionesses on such a huge platform.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, Reena says: "It's so nice the Lionesses have the coverage they do now and everyone is following them and seeing what women can do."

Southall Athletic are a diverse team with players from a whole host of backgrounds, it's something Seleena would like to see within future England squads.

"I think it would be really inspirational to have more of a diverse team because it's a bit more relatable. It means we're all able to look up to players and shows anyone can do it ".

Former Barcelona Women's Head Coach Lluís Cortés speaking to BBC World Service about Spain teenager Salma Paralluelo: "She's a top football player but she's an athlete. She's so fast, she's so strong and she's good playing.

"I think she's going to be one of the best players in the world very soon, because she has some different qualities than other normal players.

"She's playing with confidence and it's very important for a young player like Salma to play with confidence. It's also thanks to the staff, to Jorge [Vilda] and the staff and also team-mates who give her this confidence.

"Salma is performing so good an I think she's going to be important in the final."

Mack: Good decision about the team staying the same. Proven strong team and I wouldn't want to face a fired up Lauren James and known pivotal goal scorer Chloe Kelly coming off the bench.

Anon: Correct decision for me to keep continuity and with a threat from the bench. 1-1 with a Lauren James winner I reckon redemption - come on girls!!!

Harry: Absolutely the right decision keeping the same squad, we can put James on if we need to later in the game.

No prizes for guessing who Cath and Andy are supporting.

Andy was born three months after England won the men's World Cup in 1966 and is desperate to witness a moment in history and see the Lionesses conquer the world.

He has even painted his nails red and white for the occasion.

"I don't care how England do it as long as they win," says Andy. "I think it will be very tense."

Cath is originally from Rochdale but the couple have lived in Melbourne for 18 years and have flown to Sydney for the big occasion.

Sarina Wiegman: England manager 'really enjoys' Lionesses job and has 'no plans to leave'

    Good news, England fans.

Head coach Sarina Wiegman said earlier this week she has "no plans" to leave her role as England manager and intends to see out the rest of her contract, which lasts until 2025.

Wiegman has been touted as a candidate for the USA job after Vlatko Andonovski's exit.

Football Association chief executive Mark Bullingham said any approaches for the Dutchwoamn would be "100% rejected".

"I'm really enjoying my job," said Wiegman, who joined in September 2021.

She said: "I have the impression that people still like me doing the job. I have no plans to leave. I'm staying out of [speculation regarding the USA job]. I've heard it.

"I'm with England, I'm really happy with England and I have a contract until 2025."

If she manages to guide England to World Cup glory, should she ever be allowed to leave?

Under Sarina Wiegman this England team have completely flourished.

Pundits and players have hailed her tactics, her substitutions, her style of play, her adaptability, her ability to create a winning mentality. And another thing that comes up time and again is what she is like as a person, a genuinely good egg.

    Her record speaks for itself.

As head coach of the Netherlands, she guided them to a European title and the World Cup final - just as she has in England.

The Lionesses have lost just one of their 38 games during her two-year reign.

After England beat Australia in the semi-final she said she felt she was "in a fairy-tale" and the Lionesses will hope to deliver the perfect ending to that story today.
