No time for Manchester United to build on that lead. Just what Arsenal needed and it was captain Martin Odegaard who came up with the goods.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is demanding his team defend further up the pitch. He is concerned at how they are being pushed back.

Christian Eriksen, with an assist already, tries to restore United's lead with a powerful strike from 18 yards out, but Kai Havertz gets there to charge the shot down.

    On Manchester United's goal:

What a sucker-punch that is for Arsenal. Super finish Marcus Rashford. That is the first time we have said his name.

Boy did he come alive here. Unfortunately for Kai Havertz, the weight is on his shoulders with the pass.

Rashford cracks one right into the far corner. Great counter-attacking football from Manchester United.

    On Arsenal's equaliser:

When I see Martin Odegaard line up with his left foot and he's stepping onto that, you know the ball is hitting the target. It is lovely play.

    It is perfection.

He is on the edge of the box and strokes it into the bottom corner. Lovely goal from Arsenal.

    Instant response from Arsenal.

Manchester United's lead lasts less than a minute. Gabriel Martinelli pulls the ball back inside the penalty area and it is met by Martin Odegaard's lovely first-time finish as the Gunners captain quickly pulls his side level.

    Marcus Rashford

Manchester United had created nothing as an attacking threat and they strike first with their first look at the goalposts.

Kai Havertz loses possession inside the Manchester United half, with Christian Eriksen releasing Marcus Rashford down the left.

The England man, with Arsenal's defenders backing off, gets into the penalty area, shifts it on to his right foot and scores a great goal.

Manchester United have won six of their last seven Premier League games, losing the other in London against Spurs last month.

The Red Devils have picked up just six points from their last 10 league visits to the capital (won one, drawn three, lost six) and are winless in their last five (drawn two, lost three).

Anon: Football fans are like sheep. Read that Havertz is waste of money and no good in the tabloids and all believe it. Give the man a chance.

Matty: The most infuriating thing about Havertz is that there's a reason we keep seeing him miss these glorious chances; his positioning ghosting in from midfield is phenomenal. If he could just kick the ball, the rest of the league would be in real trouble!

There have been quite a lot of errors in this game so far. It has been a little bit frantic.

The players are a little bit edgy, a little bit nervy.

Kai Havertz is very much in the process of winning over Arsenal's fans, many unconvinced as to why Mikel Arteta shelled out £65m to buy him from Chelsea.

He could have helped his case there but that was just an horrendous miskick with the goal at his mercy.

Loud shout of: "Get him off" to our right. Bit impatient.

Great skill from Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard on the edge of the penalty area, spinning and shooting in one movement. But it is charged down by a combination of Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.

The Gunners, who have started well, then have a corner from Bukayo Saka swings in from the left but Declan Rice heads over the top.

Wow. That man Martinelli is on fire at the moment.

It falls to the feet of Kai Havertz and on his left foot, I don't know what happened there. He didn't look particularly comfortable or relaxed.

Chris: Three times in the first six minutes Onana has just thumped the ball forward straight to an Arsenal player. Didn’t they bring him in specifically because he was supposed to have better distribution than De Gea?

Alan: Agree with Hutchison. That they're playing a weaker team shouldn't blind Arsenal to the fact they are unbalanced. Arteta is tweaking thinking he's got the final piece but he's in danger of pushing Arsenal further away

What a chance for Kai Havertz. He's 10 yards out, centre of the goal, but absolutely slices the shot, making an awful connection. Arsenal get a corner, but that should've been the opening goal.

The Gunners have scored in 22 of these 24 games, netting at least twice in 20 of those, but they've also only kept four clean sheets in this run.

Keith: Why are Man Utd playing in Newcastle's kit today?

Silvio: Why are we playing Newcastle United? I thought we were against Man Utd.

Dave: Asking Newcastle to play twice in a weekend seems harsh...

A reminder of Manchester United's away kit for today's clash at the Emirates Stadium.
