    A great save.

The technique is magnificent from Moussa Diaby, but it is an even better save from Jordan Pickford.

It would have been game over if Diaby made the 3-0.

Fantastic save by Jordan Pickford from a brilliant Moussa Diaby volley!

The Aston Villa forward connects sweetly with a cross from the left but his strike is pushed onto the post by Pickford from close range.

Pickford didn't have much time to react, but he reacted superbly.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin keeps touching his cheek after he came off worse in that collision with Emi Martinez earlier. He's not been able to think about much else because there's not been too many attacking chances for the Toffees.

    Great penalty.

Jordan Pickford dives the correct way but Douglas Luiz tucks the spot kick right into the top corner. No-one is getting to that and Aston Villa lead 2-0.

He takes Watkins out. I'm not sure what his defence would be.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is struggling, I can see Abdoulaye Doucoure wave over to the bench to say he is struggling.

Could be a huge blow if he has to go off.

Too many players backed off Moussa Diaby as he ran into the box for that goal. Everton are behind again and, while there is a long, long way to go, Toffees fans will be starting to fear a long season ahead unless they turn things around today.

    Cracking goal!

Moussa Diaby charges into the box for Aston Villa before slipping the ball to Leon Bailey to his right. Bailey then does really well to lift in a dangerous cross and John McGinn gets ahead of James Garner to volley in.

A deserved lead for the hosts!
