  1. Rodri will miss Arsenal gamepublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Rodri will miss City's game against Arsenal as part of his three-game suspension for that red card. He will also sit out the matches against Wolves and Brighton.

  2. 'Hands to the throat is violent conduct'published at 16:12 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on Final Score

Initially I thought this wasn't a red card but on the second look, you can see Rodri has put his hands on the throat of Gibbs-White.

The Forest man does make the most of it, but hands on the throat is violent conduct.

Kenneth: Said at the start of the season there's a chance this Man City side can win every game. It'd be incredible. You couldn't imagine any other team in history being close to that. But they could. And I'm a Forest fan satisfied we're only 2 nil down.

Julian: Anyone calling City to go beaten is getting way over excited. Talk to me after they've been to Anfield and Tottenham for starters as well as Emirates and OT. I'm also calling Villa to beat them at Villa Park.

The red card stands. Rodri is shown the way off the pitch by the ref.

    Well.

Could this make any difference to the outcome of the game? It doesn't do Forest's chances any harm. As mad as it is, though, City are still favourites, even with 10 men.

    Luton 0-1 Wolves

This would be Wolves' second win of the season. Luton are yet to pick up a point.

  6. VAR

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

This is a lengthy VAR review to see if the ref has made the right call.

It all depends on whether the video team think there's cause to overturn it.

I mean, Gibbs-White went down very easily, but there was contact, hands raised.

    Pedro Neto

    First shot of the game...

Luton have dominated pretty much all the way through and then 10-man Wolves score with their first effort.

Pedro Neto races onto a long ball down the right, brushes off Tom Lockyer too easily, cuts inside and then rifles a ball past Thomas Kaminski.

Luton just have to win this game. They won't have a better chance.

Their 12th shot of the game as Chiedozie Ogbene - did I mention he used to play for Limerick FC? - crosses for Carlton Morris and his header is parried out by Jose Sa.

  9. RED CARD FOR MAN CITYpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Madness!

    Rodri has just pressed self-destruct!

He holds off Morgan Gibbs-White to try to win a throw in but before the ball even rolls out he turns to give the Forest man some.

There's a shove, a raising of the hands to the throat for a second. Other players are in, including Phil Foden, and down goes Gibbs-White.

The next act is for the red card to come out.

VAR will look at it of course.

No changes here, with the game pretty delicately poised. There was no shortage of effort. It's a bit of an arm wrestle.

    Luton 0-0 Wolves

Luton straight on the attack again as former Limerick winger Chiedozie Ogbene picks out Reece Burke but his shot is blocked. There are a few shouts from the fans for a penalty for handball but nah.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Luton 0-0 Wolves

Ten-man Wolves make a double change at the break. Matt Doherty and Toti replace Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hwang Hee-Chan.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

Not the most exciting of first halves across those three games. All going pretty much how you might have imagined.

We're getting back under way for another 45 minutes. Let's see what they can serve up this time...

  14. City on cruise controlpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

City are completely in charge here, even though it feels like they took their foot off the gas in the final few minutes of that half.

Forest still look lively on the break, but they haven't forced Ederson into a save. That Morgan Gibbs-White free-kick after 21 minutes - which was deflected wide - remains their only effort at goal.

Matt: Pep Guardiola has two or more players for every position. That he complains about injuries on a hot streak like this is utterly absurd. City will win the league by wider margin than last season.

Paul: Calling it now, Man City will go unbeaten this season

  16. Luton 'hungry and purposeful'published at 15:58 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    HT: Luton 0-0 Wolves

    Chris Wise
BBC Radio 5 Live commentator at Kenilworth Road

Luton don’t want the words ‘lacking ruthlessness’ to be used against them again this weekend.

They’ve been hungry, purposeful and really strong in wide areas. But they’ve not made that domination count.

Wolves were poor before Bellegarde’s red-card, so they’ve got some serious sorting out to do.

  17. 'One player who makes Forest tick'published at 15:55 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

That's one player who makes Forest tick for me, Morgan Gibbs-White, we haven't really seen him get into some good positions. He gets away there, his touch was a little bit big for him as he gets caught out.

  18. The game is there for Lutonpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 23 September 2023

    Luton 0-0 Wolves

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Kenilworth Road

Luton have been on top, they have created the better chances and they have an extra man.

The points are there for Luton.

Are they good enough to take them?

A bit of history for Harry Kane in Germany.

The England striker has scored twice in the opening hour of Bayern Munich v Bochum - it's currently 5-0 - and that makes him the first player to score six goals in his first five Bundesliga appearances for Bayern.

    Man City 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Taiwo Awoniyi's drive into the City box, headed off by Ruben Dias, is the final act.

City have total control of this thanks to 15 sparkling minutes at the start.

As mad as it sounds, Forest might actually a bit relieved to only be going in 2-0 down.
