Almost every match (three in a row now), the first shot on target against United is a goal.

    Ben

This bunch of United players truly are rotten. The moment the manager challenges them they stop playing for him. Disgusting attitude.

    Ollie

The more I see Mount and Onana the more I'm confused about these signings. Possibly one of our worst transfer windows ever?

    Burnley 1-1 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Vincent Kompany will be really disappointed with that, he knows his side were much the better team so far in the first half.

He wanted his players to keep their heads and get to half-time but then they go and concede an unfortunate goal like that. That is football for you.

    Everton 2-0 Bournemouth

Another chance for Everton as James Garner is through on the right. He has Abdoulaye Doucoure in support in the middle but as he slides it across the six-yard box, Doucoure decides to pull back to the edge of the box. A mix-up and a wasted chance.

  9. 'Against the run of play'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Burnley 1-1 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

So so unfortunate. The ball is on the left hand side, Raheem Sterling just cuts the ball across with pace.

It goes off Ameen Al Dakhil's thigh and over the top of James Trafford, it spun into the back of the net.

So unlucky and so against the run of play as well.

That's a bit of luck for Chelsea, but it is very timely.

GOAL - Burnley 1-1 Chelseapublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Ameen Al Dakhil own goal

Well, if you can't fashion a goal yourself, get the opposition to do it!

Raheem Sterling does well, to be fair to him, driving down the byline on the left before firing a cross that Ameen Al Dakhil does even better to knee over his own keeper and in.

    Deft finish.

  13. 'Why are you punching it there?'published at 15:41 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Everton 2-0 Bournemouth

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on Final Score

Neto should do better for the first cross, if I'm a defender I am shouting at him to come and claim the ball. Why are you punching it there?

Then the second ball comes in, he goes for the punch again, and instead collides with his own defender. Let the defender deal with it!

Take nothing away from Harrison, spots the keeper off his line out of position, and a wonderful lofted finish into the net.

    Burnley 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea are getting into some decent spots, but they don't have the guile to open Burnley up. It's very slow. It's like they are hoping for some inspiration from someone in isolation rather than possessing the nous to make it happen.

  15. 'Fourth game in a row that they're behind'published at 15:40 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Brentford

    Eilidh Barbour
    BBC Commentator at Old Trafford

It is a huge frustration for Man Utd fans.

This is the fourth home game in a row where they have fallen behind and are playing catch-up, they only won one of the other three.

They just can't seem to get things to click and have been unable to truly test the Brentford goal.

Chance for Marcus Rashford as he escapes in behind from the left. It's a tight angle though and he's denied by Thomas Strakosha at the near post.

A few moments later, Brentford go up the other end and Bryan Mbeumo whips one just wide of the left post.

  20. goal

GOAL - Everton 2-0 Bournemouthpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Jack Harrison (37 mins)

    Wow!

Neto chooses to punch another cross from Everton and it's not convincing.

It falls for Jack Harrison on the edge of the box and he smashes it superbly into the top left corner, looping over Neto and bouncing off the wordwork on its way in.

Not a bad way to score your first Premier League goal for Everton!
