Andreas Pereira has been Fulham's most dangerous player, but also their most wasteful one. He leads a quick attack but then shuns better options to sweep a shot wide of the far post.

The Brentford fans are giving Christian Eriksen a bit of stick.

The Dane returned to the game with the Bees following his heart scare but joined Manchester United at the start of last season.

"You should have stayed with a big club," the visiting contingent sing.

I can't remember watching a team that nullifies it's own attacks like United do. It's like they purposely stop to let the opposition get everyone behind the ball, before continuing

Of all the many mistakes Man utd have made over the summer and since the season started, letting De Gea go for free and spending loads of money on a risky keeper who has made howler after howler is quite simply the dumbest thing of all. Disgraceful.

    Man Utd 0-1 Brentford

Manchester United switch it up from right to left, looking for an opening which Brentford don't give them.

Eventually, Christian Eriksen has a go from long range and it's a good effort, dipping and moving, forcing a save from Thomas Strakosha.

    Burnley 1-2 Chelsea

    Izzy Christiansen

Some penalty from the young boy Cole Palmer.

He has given James Trafford the eyes, slotted it calm, collected, composed, the other way. Big pressure on him at that point, dispatched easily.

Burnley have started this half really badly. They look a mess all of a sudden. Chelsea are nearly in again, but Conor Gallagher is judged to have just strayed offside.

VAR has a little look to check if the foul was inside or outside the box.

It backs up the on-field ref and Cole Palmer does the rest with a neat penalty to open his Chelsea account.

The Blues turn this around either side of the break.

  17. 'Eriksen can help beat the Brentford press'published at 16:07 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Brentford

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on Final Score

Eriksen will be coming on to help beat that Brentford press.

He normally receives the ball on the half turn and plays it around the corner first time, beating any pressure that opponents try to put on.

But don't be fooled, they need more than Eriksen to make a change here. They need three or four others to step up and be counted.

    Burnley 1-1 Chelsea

Raheem Sterling remains the man to whom Chelsea look when on the attack. He chips a ball into the box but it is just a bit too heavy for Nicolas Jackson.

  19. Casemiro offpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 7 October 2023

    Man Utd 0-1 Brentford

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Erik ten Hag has taken Casemiro off at half-time.

This is not a surprise. The Brazilian has been poor this season, not tracking back and giving possession away.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United respond to this situation.
