  3. CLOSE!published at 15:26 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Nottm Forest 0-0 Luton

Luton survive again as this time Chris Wood sends a first-time strike over from the middle of the box.

Had to be getting that on target at least and the look on his face suggests he knows that.

  4. goal

GOAL - Brentford 1-0 Burnleypublished at 27 mins

    Yoane Wissa

    Brentford deservedly go ahead!

The Bees win the ball in midfeild and Mathias Jensen plays a brilliant pass out wide to Bryan Mbeumo who cuts it across to Yoane Wissa for an easy tap-in.

Brentford have thrown away 11 points from winning positions this season. But will they hold on this afternoon?

    Mark Mitchener
    BBC Sport at Vitality Stadium

A sense of elation, tinged with relief, fills the ground as Dominic Solanke sweeps home the opener - only Bournemouth's second home league goal this season, in their fifth game.

If Alex Scott was not directly involved, his presence in midfield has allowed Philip Billing to get forward more to support Solanke - in exactly the kind of move which set up the goal.

Far from boss Andoni Iraola being on the verge of the sack as one national pundit this week suggested, his name is being sung by the home fans with gusto.

  7. 'Beautiful goal'published at 15:25 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Bournemouth 1-0 Wolves

    Rachel Brown-Finnis
    Ex-England goalkeeper on BBC One

Beautiful goal, with real composure in tight areas - which both teams have lacked in the past. The way Dominic Solanke adjusted his feet, and then hit it in with such speed and precision was great.

  8. Haaland back in the goalspublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Man City 2-0 Brighton

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Utter relief for Erling Haaland who decided he absolutely was not going to go a fourth City game without a goal and just leathered it into the back of the net from the edge of the area.

Celebrations said it all, there, as Haaland went wild with his team mates and the City fans, who dutifully responded with a few rounds of 'Haaland! Haaland! Haaland!'

    So close for Nottingham Forest!

There's an almighty scramble inside the box, someone in a red shirt looks certain to prod in from close range but somehow Luton clear.

    Man City 2-0 Brighton

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

A mistake in the Brighton midfield, the youngster Baleba dwelling on the ball.

Haaland has barely had a touch in this game so far, but he has a left foot like a hammer. Smashes the ball into the net, a precision finish. Devastating.

    Man City on easy street!

  12. VAR

NO PENALTYpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

    Brentford survive. Contact was minimal.

Burnley had countered down the right with the ball played in to Mike Tresor and, as the forward let it run for a teammate, Tresor was caught late by Frank Onyeka. But it wasn't enough for the referee to change his initial decision.

    What goal drought!?

  15. 'Amount of goals they're conceding isn't great'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It has been an amazing start to the season, they are the league's top scorers so far Brighton.

De Zerbi has spoken about the need for them to tighten up a bit at the back. If you are conceding two goals a game, on average they are at the moment, that's not great. It is a consequence of their brand of football.

If you're a Brighton fan, you're loving it aren't you?

    Newcastle 1-0 Crystal Palace

Anthony Gordon tries to fizz the ball through the middle of the defence for Callum Wilson but Joachim Andersen is wise to the danger.

Still, all Newcastle at the moment as they look to put this beyond Crystal Palace.

  17. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Man City 1-0 Brighton

Evan Ferguson, who turned 19 on Thursday, is on for Danny Welbeck who cannot carry on after going down injured.

Moments later James Milner goes in hard on the dangerous Jeremy Doku.

  18. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Brentford 0-0 Burnley

Watching back Brentford's disallowed goal it's really difficult to see what the Bees did wrong. Every player who touched the ball was onside and those who had made their run too early from Bryan Mbeumo's wide free-kick didn't seem to be interfering with play.

Strange call and Thomas Frank doesn't look too happy about it. His side remain on top though.

  19. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 1-0 Wolvespublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Dominic Solanke

Great football from the hosts. Lewis Cook and David Brooks are both heavily involved and Philip Billing then lays one up on a plate for Dominic Solanke to put the Cherries in front from six yards, with a clever flick.

  20. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Bournemouth 0-0 Wolves

Wolves look so dangerous on the counter and Hwang Hee-chan skips away from Lloyd Kelly but then can't pick out a teammate.
