Brentford finished as the top club in west London last season - could the same happen this season?

The Bees have jumped above Chelsea into 10th place with today's win.

Boos from the home fans at the final whistle. The players stand around looking dejected, while Mauricio Pochettino pacing around like a man who has just seen a ghost.

In contrast, Brentford are jubilantly celebrating with their fans in the away end - German-style cheers greet the fist-pumps from the players.

In all honesty a well deserved victory for Brentford.

We expected them to score more than Chelsea today and that is a damning indictment of the home side's attacking form.

Strong performance, resolute defending, Ethan Pinnock has been excellent today we must highlight his performance, he also scored today too.

The physicality and solidity they have in their back three is at the core of results like this. Such astute signings in that area have added value to what they were already doing.

This was the perfect away performance from Brentford, everyone knowing their jobs defensively and also offering a threat on the counter-attack.

Players throwing their bodies on the line, defending set pieces well, and with the pace of Mbeumo they always offered a threat in behind. Thomas Frank has set his team up so well today.

It was always on the cards.

The way Brentford have managed this game has been superb, Frank and his staff deserve so much credit.

So resolute at the back and clinical up top. The belief and confidence they have when they break, they know they can be a threat and take their chances.

Chelsea are trying to give Palmer and Sterling more freedom to roam.

The issue in the first half was that chances were falling to Cucurella on that left hand side and he looked very umcomfortable, missed a few.

They are now giving Palmer and Sterling the license to get on the ball and drive at the Brentford defence, but the visitors are still looking comfortable.

Chelsea are tripping over themselves. A low cross can't be turned in by a couple of players, including teenage debutant Deivid Washington.

"Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio," sing the gleeful Brentford fans as they spot a few Chelsea heading for the Tube.
