    Here are those Chelsea changes.

No surprise to see Reece James be one of them, with Ian Maatsen also tasked by Mauricio Pochettino to make an impact.

They come on for defender Axel Disasi and winger Noni Madueke.

Will they have the desired effect?

Brentford haven't lost in their last 12 London derbies and you can see why. They have withstood Chelsea's pressure with some stubborn defending, and have still looked dangerous whenever they have got any passing sequences going.

Ethan Pinnock has been outstanding so far in the middle of the back three, and has now given the Bees the lead.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brentford

Chelsea continue to push for a leveller but are lacking the confidence and conviction to equalise.

Two balls into the box from set-pieces come to nothing, then Cole Palmer can't find the target to the delight of the joyous Brentford fans.

JS: A billion spent and no European football, yet we have zero attacking options on the bench. Injury FC.

Tambuwal: Chelsea women team > the men’s team.

Watching the game on TV you would think Brentford hadn't turned up by how much the commentators are raving about Chelsea. Not overly a fan of either but pretty happy Brentford scored to be honest.

    Chelsea 0-1 Brentford

Time for a Brentford change - one which former Bees boss Mark Warburton alluded to earlier on 5 Live.

On comes Frank Onyeka with Mathias Jensen going off.

Some movement on the Chelsea bench too, it seems...

    Chelsea 0-1 Brentford

Chelsea's reaction since the goal has been good - but it's the same pattern as previously.

Lots of encouraging build-up play before a wasteful final ball. A lot of that is down to Brentford's organisation at the back, luring them into a panicked delivery.

Stamford Bridge is stunned. The home fans have been shell-shocked into silence. The away end, as you can imagine, is bouncing.

The threat from the wide areas has paid off for Brentford.

The ball comes in from the right from Jensen to Pinnock at the back post, he is virtually unmarked as he heads the ball in the net.

A familiar tale yet again for Chelsea. It is ludicrous really, you need to do the basics well first and foremost and they've forgotten to pick up the man at the back post.

    Chelsea have been punished! Incredible.

What on Earth was Ethan Pinnock doing up there? Not entirely sure to be honest.

But Brentford are certainly glad he is. The defender nods in from close range after being picked out by Bryan Mbeumo's beauty of a cross from the right.

Another half chance for Chelsea. How many times have we wrote that? Nicolas Jackson flashes one over the bar.

Could the Blues made to pay for their profligacy?

James will unlock this defence. Bring him on!

    Toby

Jackson needs to pull his socks up, as when Nkunku comes back his game time will be highly restricted.

    Ryan

You have to think that should Brentford score Chelsea would likely lose this match. How many years have they neglected to buy a striker?

Chelsea shout for a free-kick when Marc Cucurella is booted on the touchline, which is what he gets.

Then we have a 'What Happened Next' moment - one for the older readers...

Brentford sub Neal Maupay skips in front of Cole Palmer as he lines up the free-kick, knocking it out of the way and getting a booking.

Palmer: is on the losing side and hasn’t done much to change that. Grealish: won a treble last season. It shows how silly some people are. I’m a Wolves fan but even I know Grealish is better. Palmer is good for his age. But people always have to add “for his age” I mean c’mon. I guess these people are right. Palmer better than Grealish. Raheem is better than Kane and we all know that Gallagher is better than Eusebio ever was… Gotta laugh at Chelsea fans.

After that rare foray into the Chelsea box, Brentford now have some defending to do.

Chelsea continue to move the ball quickly and Raheem Sterling lashes one towards goal when the ball bounces up nicely for him at the edge of the box.

A Brentford body goes on the line to block.

  17. 'Not many options to change things for Chelsea'published at 52 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 Brentford

    Mark Warburton
Former Brentford boss on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brentford have been solid and well organised so far. Thomas Frank will be looking for them to keep that clean sheet and look for the threat on the counter.

The most impactful sub of the match could be Frank Onyeka coming on for Brentford - despite their big squad Chelsea don't seem to have that many options to bring on.

Now this is a chance for Brentford!

Neat play down the right flank sees Mads Roeslev feed Mathias Jensen and the Dane cuts back from the byeline to the incoming Vitaly Janelt.

Hit it son! He does but it is straight at Robert Sanchez, who gets his positioning spot on.

The delivery is not as precise as Gallagher would like and it allows Brentford to try to counter.

The Bees have not created a decent chance yet, but now have some ball in Chelsea's half.
