Matheus Nunes' surge downfield ended in disappointing fashion as his pass, intended for Erling Haaland, was just too quick for the Norwegian.

However, Pep Guardiola bounded out of his seat and ran to the touchline to give one of his elaborate over the head claps to the Portuguese, who didn't actually see it.

Guardiola kept shouting until Nunes eventually heard him, when the City boss gave more enthusiastic encourgament.

    Man City 0-0 Young Boys

It takes an age for City to take the set-piece but when they do...

Great goalkeeping from the Young Boys stopper.

I am fascinated looking at John Stones' starting position. He is ahead of Mateo Kovacic a couple of times.

  10. Leipzig leading Red Starpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

Red Star Belgrade 0-1 RB Leipzig

Some good news for Manchester City fans: RB Leipzig are ahead against Red Star Belgrade.

Xavi Simons scored in the eighth minute to give Leipzig the lead.

If things stay as they are in Serbia then City only require a point at the Etihad tonight to seal their qualification for the Champions League knockout stages.

  11. PSG lead Milanpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    AC Milan 0-1 Paris St-Germain

Milan Skriniar gives PSG an early lead at the San Siro.

The former Inter defender heads in at the back post, completely unmarked.

That is far too easy. Former Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek is the man who should have been marking him.

Great noise inside the Etihad. Most of it is coming from where the travelling fans from Switzerland are gathered. Just the 24% possession for their team in the opening 10 minutes.

Now Erling Haaland is in behind the defence but he's got an awful lot of work to do. The forward still forces a save from Anthony Racioppi.

I am surprised Erling Haaland starts. I didn't think they would taken the risk with Chelsea at the weekend. I thought they would have kept him for that and started Julian Alvarez.

The Young Boys supporters have made a late entrance.

They are colour co-ordinated as well, with everyone in the second tier wearing yellow and everyone in the lower tier wearing what looks like black raincoats or bin bags.

    Good effort.
