Newcastle have got to get a victory. It's going to be difficult, PSG have hit some good form, especially at home in the French league, and they're scoring a lot of goals at home.

Unfortunately, we all know that Newcastle are suffering heavily with injuries and it's going to be a big ask for them to get any type of result.

Eddie Howe realises they've got to get a victory. I was at the Chelsea game on Saturday and they played very well.

He has got to go for it. If they unsettle PSG - they don't like that, they like time on the ball and they've got some very technical players.

If Newcastle try to bully them like they did with Chelsea, that's the best way of getting a result.

Win, lose or draw couldn't be more proud of this current team. If we get a result tonight, after seeing that bench, Eddie can have the freedom of Newcastle.

"It is important to finish first. We believe that when we play the last 16, [having] the second leg at home is not decisive but an advantage and we have to take it."

Newcastle must avoid defeat in Paris tonight to have any chance of reaching the last 16.

After consecutive losses to Borussia Dortmund, they are bottom of Group F in their first Champions League campaign for 20 years.

"We will need every ounce of energy to get a result," said manager Eddie Howe this week.

"This is a defining moment in our Champions League campaign. We are going to give it everything. It is imperative we don't lose."

Newcastle looked in a strong position when they thrashed PSG 4-1 in their second Group F match at St James' Park in early October.

But injuries have since affected their form with those two losses to Dortmund harming their chances.
