Harry Kane's first shot of the night doesn't trouble Andre Onana but he had a lot of space on the edge of the area to take aim.

Manchester United cannot allow Kane to drift into areas like that with no-one tracking him.

The England skipper can be lethal in hardly any room, let alone loads.

The familiar sight of Harry Kane dropping deep before he sends the ball down the flank for Noussair Mazraoui, who drives the ball across the box but again no Bayern Munich player is there to turn it in.

That's half a chance for Harry Kane. He's 18 yards out but doesn't get the power.

Not much happening in the Danish capital which is good news for Manchester United.

As things stand, a United goal would be enough to send them through.

Kingsley Coman tees up Harry Kane on the edge of the area and the England striker hits a low first-time effort towards the far corner, but André Onana has it covered.

Good run by Antony down the right that gets the crowd going. He nutmegs Leon Goretzka but the Bayern Munich man then gets back well to usher the ball behind for a goal kick.

A loose touch by Kingsley Coman and the ball deflects back to André Onana in the Manchester United goal.

The hosts then try to play out from the back but Sofyan Amrabat loses the ball on halfway.

Manchester United keep up this promising early couple of minutes as Antony cuts in from the right and tries to bend a shot into the top corner but he has too much height on his effort.

When it was drawn, it was a group we would have expected Manchester United to get out of.

A huge roar from the Stretford End as Diogo Dalot runs into the box to receive a pass and tries to cut the ball back but Joshua Kimmich gets the block in and the hosts have a corner.

Bruno Fernandes then sends the ball into the box but it is headed awya.

There was no extra warmth in the pre-match handshakes between Harry Kane and his England team-mates Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire.

It's strictly business for them tonight.

Of course, this match has far more importance for the Manchester United duo than Kane - but I suspect he really wants to come here and score.

Almost a terrible start for Manchester United as Harry Kane peels away from the defence on the right and whips a dangerous ball across the face of goal but Leroy Sane cannot reach it.

Then the whistle goes as Kane was offside when he received the ball first.

Fantastic noise at Old Trafford. Both sets of fans giving it everything.

The issue Manchester United supporters have with Anthony Martial is that they don't think he runs around enough.

They clearly have issues in that centre forward position.

Norwegian referee Espen Eskås was the man in charge in the summer when England beat Spain in the European Under-21 Championship final.

Clearly, after what happened in Turkey last night, we can only hope there are no issues around the officials at Old Trafford.
