    LASK 1-1 Liverpool

So nearly again for LASK! From a corner the ball disappears under a pile of players before eventually squirting out to Marin Ljubicic, but his strike on the turn is kept out by the feet of Caoimhin Kelleher.

    Legia Warsaw 3-2 Aston Villa

Pawel Wszolek cuts back from the bye line, he shouldn't have been allowed to do that really - he was in bags of space. But, on this occasion, Calum Chambers picks up and clears the danger.

West Ham boss David Moyes has opted to make nine changes to the side that lost 3-1 to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Midfield duo James Ward-Prowse and Lucas Paqueta are the only two players to remain in the starting XI this evening.

Alfonse Areola drops onto the bench as expected, with Lukas Fabianski selected to start in goal.

Winger Mohammed Kudus has been handed a full debut for the Hammers after making a substitute appearance at the weekend.

West Ham XI: Fabianski, Kehrer, Mavropanos, Ogbonna (c), Cresswell, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta, Fornals, Benrahma, Kudus, Ings.

Visitors TSC Bačka Topola are the first Serbian side to come up against West Ham United in European competition.

They arrive at the London Stadium this evening with a supposed 4-4-2 formation, with fullbacks Cvetković and Petrović the men expected to provide attacking threat for the team from wide areas.

Bačka Topola XI: Simic, Cvetkovic, Antonic, Dordevic, Petrovic, Radin, Dakovac, Stojic, Kuveljic, Stanic, Jovanovic.

    Legia Warsaw 3-2 Aston Villa

Looks like Matty Cash is warming up. That Aston Villa defence have really struggled and would probably benefit from a bit of a change.

    LASK 1-1 Liverpool

LASK are still in this and very nearly retake the lead as Elias Havel blasts an effort goalwards from range.

Liverpool stopper Caoimhin Kelleher is on his toes though and gets down to his right to keep out the shot.

Well, Aston Villa have found a way back into this match two times. Can they do it a third time?

  10. PENALTY TO LIVERPOOLpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    LASK 1-0 Liverpool

    A way back in.

Ryan Gravenberch gets in behind and cuts the ball back. Luis Diaz meets the pass but his shot is always heading wide.

On his follow-through he's caught by LASK defender Philipp Ziereis. It's a very soft penalty but Liverpool won't care one bit. Ziereis gets a yellow card too.

    LASK 1-0 Liverpool

LASK look really comfortable, that is until Ben Doak gets on the ball. He twists and turns in the box but is eventually smothered by a wall of defenders.

  12. goal

GOAL - Legia Warsaw 3-2 Aston Villapublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    Ernest Muci (51 mins)

Well I'm not sure what Unai Emery said at half-time but, it didn't work.

It's a carbon copy of the previous two goals defensively. Legia Warsaw get on the counter attack and, as they have for the other two goals, the Aston Villa defence seem to disappear.

Ernest Muci loses his marker and slots past Emi Martinez who can't make the save down to his left.

Defensively really poor from Villa and Emery makes his feelings known on the bench.

    Legia Warsaw 2-2 Aston Villa

Nicolo Zaniolo wriggles into a bit of space and cuts back for Youri Tielemans on the end of the area but the Belgian can't connect.

Now, Legia quickly get on the counter-attack.

We know what usually happens here...

It would be nice if Liverpool occasionally had a game where they turned up in both halves.

    LASK 1-0 Liverpool

Ah, nearly for Liverpool as some great feet from Darwin Nunez sees him get a yard of space in the LASK box.

But the Uruguayan hesitates and the chance dribbles away. It's been that sort of game for the forward so far tonight.

    Legia Warsaw 2-2 Aston Villa

Free kick early in the second half for Aston Villa but it's deep in the Legia Warsaw half and the visitors send it backwards.

Collision between Leon Bailey and Yuri Ribeiro, nothing in it but just looks like the Legia man is winded.

RE all the comments about the Liverpool changes - klopp has won basically every other competition going, including the CL. Think he probably knows what he's doing

Lets be honest, Liverpool wouldn't be resting Salah if it was the champions League. Just as many games per week

  20. Aberdeen level at the breakpublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    HT: Frankfurt 1-1 Aberdeen

Aberdeen have had just 16% of possession away to Frankfurt but they find themselves level at the break.

Omar Marmoush put the hosts 1-0 up from the spot after 11 minutes but Dante Polvara got the Dons level in the 22nd minute with a brilliant equaliser.
