It looks a penalty all day long. Jensen is caught ball-watching a little. That shouldn't happen.

The gap between Rubezic and Jensen is too big.

Bojan Miovski would still have a lot to do, but on a night like this, you have to take your opportunities to put the opposition under pressure.

Genuinely, if Graeme Shinnie lifts that ball high, Bojan Miovski is clean through one on one.

Aberdeen deal with the corner and Graeme Shinnie picks it up.

Bojan Miovski is clean through, he just has to find him!

But the pass is so poor. That's a huge, huge breakaway chance passed up.

The atmosphere in Frankfurt is absolutely incredible. The place is shaking with the noise the home support are making.

This is the classic cauldron, much of tonight will come down to how the Aberdeen players can handle the occasion.

The 2,300 are doing their best to be heard, but it is going to be a struggle.

All the hard work at the back end of last season, it was all for nights like this.

Yes, it's daunting and difficult and you're up against a good side, but that's why you play football.

You've got to stand up and be counted, be brave on the ball and try and get something from the game.

  16. Aberdeen here to fight - Robsonpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    Eintracht Frankfurt v Aberdeen (17:45)

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson tells TNT Sports: "When you work so hard last season, how we performed - that's why we did it, terrific occasions like this. I've just told the boys to go and enjoy it.

When asked about the absence of Duk from the Dons' starting line-up, Robson added: "It's not always easy for forwards players to cover large distances game after game. We've got Bojan [Miovski] up there and he's in fine form, so we'll see.

"Frankfurt are a really big club and it's not going to be the easiest night, but we'll come here and fight. We just want to go and perform to our best."

  18. 'Eintracht weakened by summer departures'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    Eintracht Frankfurt v Aberdeen (17:45)

    Thomas Duncan

A glimmer of hope for Aberdeen is Eintracht's departures have significantly impacted them.

As well as Randal Kolo Muani and Jesper Lindstrom, the brilliant Daichi Kamada has left to join Lazio, Djibril Sow departed for Sevilla, centre-back Evan Ndicka has gone to Roma, and left-back Christopher Lenz moved to RB Leipzig.

All these players were starters, and a key part of last season's run to the last 16 of the Champions League, as well as the Europa League final defeat of Rangers in 2022.

The manager who led that success, the Austrian Oliver Glasner, has also gone after an agreement not to see out the final year of his contract. He left after defeat against RB Leipzig in the German Cup final.

Dino Toppmoller, former assistant to Julian Nagelsmann at Leipzig and Bayern Munich, has taken the reins and is in the early days of his tenure.

Eintracht are unbeaten in seven games this season but are struggling for goals. Only twice have they managed to find the net more than once in a game, and one of those was a 7-0 win against fourth-tier side Lokomotiv Leipzig in the cup.

  19. 'Bold call from Robson'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    Eintracht Frankfurt v Aberdeen (17:45)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland in Frankfurt

A big big call by Barry Robson, opting to leave Duk on the bench tonight.

There have been those among the Aberdeen support saying it was time to give someone else a chance in the starting XI, with the player, who was such a talisman last season, struggling for form so far this term.

However, there will also be those who would have hoped that the biggest of stages might be the ideal place for him to rediscover his form.

Anyway, depending on how the game goes, not a bad option to have to introduce from the bench later in the game.

  20. 'Eintracht will believe they can win the tournament'published at 17:28 British Summer Time 21 September 2023

    Eintracht Frankfurt v Aberdeen (17:45)

    Derek Rae
    ESPN's lead Bundesliga commentator

Eintracht will be going into the Conference League firmly believing they can win it, they will see that as the ultimate goal.

They are a massive institution on the rise. They sell out every game and it's a special place to watch a game. A very passionate club, a traditional club, they are respected up and down Germany, not just for their fans but for their history.

They are not the team they were a couple of years ago when they beat Rangers in the Europa League final.

The strengths are more middle to front. If you want to identify weaknesses you might say defensively, but that is still difficult to judge because they are in transition after saying goodbye to some high profile players and bringing in replacements.

There is a lack of consistency and they sometimes struggle against teams that are very compact and clog the middle of the pitch but, for Aberdeen, it doesn't get much more difficult for starters.
