    That's all from us tonight!

Thanks very much for joining us as West Brom claim the bragging rights in this Midlands derby.

The Championship returns on Friday evening when table-topping Leicester host Leeds (20:00 GMT) - what a game that promises to be!

Then of course we will have the usual frantic Saturday of EFL action.

    See you then!

    FT: Coventry 0-2 West Brom

There wasn't an awful lot between the two sides if truth be told but West Brom controlled things nicely after going ahead early on.

They allowed Coventry the ball and the hosts struggled to break them down.

Coventry's best chance came to striker Haji Wright who was sent clean through on goal inadvertently by Alex Mowatt's tackle with the score at 1-0 in the second half but he missed the target.

That always looked a crucial moment, and so it proved, as Baggies sub Brandon Thomas-Asante showed him how it's done with a clinical finish on the break.

Fine margins as Thomas-Asante looked as if he may have been offside, and before that, home keeper Ben Wilson made an error to gift the visitors the opening goal.

  3. 'A little bit of quality missing'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

It's three games without a goal now. It looks like they're trying to score the perfect goal. At the moment they just need something to drop for them to end this bad run.

I don't think Coventry were awful, they showed guts and determination, the one thing they were missing was a little bit of quality in the final third. The final pass or the final shot.

    FT: Coventry 0-2 West Brom

A very satisfactory evening for West Brom as they keep another clean sheet and head up to fifth in the Championship.

They've lost just one of their last nine league games now.

As for Coventry, they are winless in four and have lost their last three games.

They stay 20th with 15 points from 14 games, six points outside the relegation places.

  5. 'That's a great result and performance'published at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

To go anywhere and win 2-0 away from home is a great result and performance in this division.

A lot of the time they had their backs against the wall and Albion withstood all the pressure thrown at them by Coventry. They kept solid.

They got the early goal and that gave them something to hold onto and then they got the second with a sucker punch

A clean sheet and three points away from home, the manager will be really pleased. The dressing room will be the best place in the world after a win in a local derby like that.

Jay Dasilva gives the ball away and that's that.

A smattering of boos great the final whistle.

Goals in each half from Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante do the job nicely for West Brom.

Haji Wright missed a great chance at 1-0 to level things for Coventry but that was about as good as it got for the Sky Blues.

Callum O'Hare almost gets on the end of a teasing cross.

Coventry will need him fully-fit to turn their fortunes around.

Matt Phillips picks-up his side's sixth booking of the night - seems a lot considering the sort of game it's been!

We're going to have four added minutes.

Coventry are about to lose their unbeaten home record this season.

A header well-wide from Ben Sheaf just about sums up Coventry's attacking performance.

We'll be heading into added time shortly.

Grady Diangana and Brandon Thomas-Asante's goals are the difference.

Alex Palmer has a bit of catching practice as Coventry send another ball into the box.

It looks like West Brom are heading up to fifth, while the Sky Blues are facing a third consecutive defeat.

Can the hosts find a bit of magic to make this ending more interesting?

    One goal could change everything!

    Steve Ogrizovic

It's not for the want of trying. Coventry have done everything they can, they have been very positive on the front foot, they just haven't managed to score.

Whatever happens from here, it's been a miles better performance than the Rotherham game, against opposition that is miles better too, I might add.

The travelling fans are enjoying this now.

The Ole's are coming out and the Coventry frustration grows.

They've had so much possession but that golden Haji Wright chance aside, West Brom have largely kept them at arm's length.

  14. 'Coventry are stunned'published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

The home fans still appear stunned. The away horde are taunting them with a burst of "you're getting sacked in the morning". Highly unlikely. But this is starting to become cause for Coventry concern.

West Brom's success this season has a lot to do with how good their defence has been.

This would be a seventh clean sheet in 14 games and only leaders Leicester have conceded fewer.

Coventry have certainly found them a hard nut to crack.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 80 mins

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

    Triple change for the Baggies.

Alex Mowatt trudges off to be replaced by Jayson Molumby and Pipa heads to the sidelines to be replaced by Darnell Furlong.

Tom Fellows is also on for opening goalscorer Grady Diangana.

I make that Coventry's third penalty shout of the game!

And none have tempted Peter Bankes to point to the spot.

Local hero Callum O'Hare goes down under contact from Okay Yokuslu but again there's nothing doing.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 78 mins

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

Coventry are sending on more firepower and boy do they need it now.

Top-scorer Matty Godden is on alongside fellow striker Ellis Simms.

Jamie Allen and Haji Wright off.

Wright will still be shaking his head about that earlier miss.

They're the sort of misses that haunt strikers.

  19. 'What a stunning goal'published at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

If that proves to be the goal that settles this contest, then the Coventry fans can have no complaints. What a stunner!

It was almost contemptuous the way Matt Phillips bent that pass down the left flank with the outside of his right foot. And Brandon Thomas-Asante's right instep produced the finish to match the quality of the assist.

If there is a better goal scored in the Championship this season, I hope I'm there to see it.

  20. 'There was only one thing on his mind'published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

    Coventry 0-2 West Brom

    Tony Brown

Brandon Thomas-Asante took too many touches there and took too much time.

I don't think Grady Diangana is too happy - he could have played him in there, but there was only one thing on his mind.

He's looked sharp but in the end he made a mess of it.
