A month for managerial departurespublished at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

October has been a nervous month to be a Championship manager.
Five teams have parted ways with their boss, with the latest two coming in as many days over the weekend.
First, Gareth Ainsworth was shown the door by QPR after a defeat by Leicester on Saturday meant he had won only five of his 28 games in charge of the R's since being appointed in February, after 11 years at Wycombe.
And we've just found out his replacement - see 20:58 GMT.
Bristol City sacked Nigel Pearson yesterday after the Robins lost five of their past seven matches. The 60-year-old had been in charge since February 2021 which made him the second-longest serving manager in the division.
The longest-serving? That honour belongs to Coventry boss Mark Robins, who has been at the helm of the Sky Blues since March 2017.
The other Championship bosses to lose their jobs in October were Sheffield Wednesday's Xisco Munoz, John Eustace and Gary Rowett.
