That's what you get when you take strikes on from outside the box. Chalobah has had a go and the keeper's not done the best of jobs there, it's come off him, Diangana has done everything you'd want there, followed up for a 'fox in the box' goal.

Albion could easily be a couple up already but they've kept going and have now got their reward.

GOAL: Coventry 0-1 West Brompublished at 17 mins

    Grady Diangana

Horrible moment for Coventry goalkeeper Ben Wilson!

He drops Nathaniel Chalobah's shot at the feet of Baggies forward Grady Diangana who slots it into the net gratefully.

It was a powerful hit but straight at him.

Wilson really should have held that, it has to go down as a goalkeeping error.

  3. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

A foul on Okay Yokuslu gives the Baggies a chance to swing this into the box from wide.

Alex Mowatt is on it... but Josh Eccles clears well with his head.

  4. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

    Chances for Coventry now!

Haji Wright gets the ball out of his feet and gets a shot away but it's blocked well.

Then Tatsuhiro Sakamoto forces Alex Palmer into a save.

The ball is recycled and Ben Sheaf's shot is blocked again - but this time it looks like it hits the arm of Cedric Kipre!

Big penalty shout for the hosts but the referee shakes his head.

  5. 'Albion fans have most to shout about'published at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

Decent atmosphere inside the CBS - with both sets of fans in full voice. And with Albion's 2,000 or so following having so far slightly more to shout about.

The mood in the press box is a bit more sombre, as one would expect of any journalist who arrived slightly late to find out they'd run out of pies!

  6. 'Now's the time to take your chances'published at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

    Tony Brown
West Brom's all-time record goalscorer on BBC Radio WM

Grady Diangana is in the middle of everything in the final third.

Kyle Bartley has headed it down and into the post and it's rolled straight back into the keeper's hands. How unlucky can you be?

I have to say when you're on top like this, now is the time to take your chances... during the good times.

  7. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 7 mins

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

Another warning shot across the bows of the Coventry defence!

Matt Phillips this time sends a dangerous ball in behind but Jay Dasilva just about gets back to cover.

From the corner the visitors work it short and send it onto the head of Kyle Bartley who hits the post!

The flag goes up afterwards so it wouldn't have counted but the Baggies are on top and getting closer.

  8. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

The first break by the hosts who have struggled for possession and territory early on.

Tatsuhiro Sakamoto tries to get something going but it breaks down when Ben Sheaf loses possession.

  9. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

A good start by the visitors here as they pin Coventry back.

The recovered Cedric Kipre sends an inviting ball across goal which is chested behind for a corner.

He would be entitled to ask why no one got on the end of that!

Alex Mowatt sends the ball into the mixer but Coventry clear.

  10. 'Really slick from West Brom'published at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2023

    Coventry 0-0 West Brom

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

That must have been 20-25 passes there, a really slick move. You can see why Mark Robins has put the extra midfielder in there.

Coventry have conceded a few from corners recently and look a bit nervous.

    Albion have started very brightly.

Harry Winks celebratingImage source, Rex Features

Leicester City continued their excellent form with a 13th win in 14 Championship matches, thanks to ex-Spurs midfielder Harry Winks' stunning late goal which helped them beat struggling QPR.

Ipswich's fantastic start to life in the Championship also goes on, as a 3-2 win over Plymouth stretched the Tractor Boys' unbeaten league run to nine games.

Wayne Rooney's dismal start to life as Birmingham City manager continued as his side suffered a third consecutive Championship defeat at the hands of Southampton.

Leeds enjoyed a big win over Huddersfield, with Cardiff, Hull and Sunderland's victories meaning the top seven all tasted victory.

Stoke's win over Middlesbrough was their third on the bounce, Swansea enjoyed an away win at Blackburn and Watford drew 2-2 with Millwall.

In Sunday's only Championship match there was finally something for Sheffield Wednesday fans to cheer about as Michael Smith scored twice against former club Rotherham to help the Owls end a 13-game winless run in the league.

West Brom have made a solid start to the Championship season and come into tonight's game sitting in ninth, but knowing a win would propel them into the top six.

They beat QPR 2-0 last time out and have only lost once in their last eight league games - that came against West Midlands rivals Birmingham City in what turned out to be John Eustace's final game in charge before Wayne Rooney's appointment.

Carlos Corberan's side have proven themselves a tough team to score past, with six clean sheets in 13 matches, conceding 14 goals, which is second only to table-topping Leicester City (eight).

The Baggies will be keen to avoid a similar fate to their last visit to the CBS Arena when they lost to a late Viktor Gyokeres penalty in a 1-0 defeat.

Grady Diangana scored the only goal in last season's return fixture and the last six head-to-heads between the two sides have been very tight affairs, with two ending goalless and the other four being won by a single-goal margin.

After being within a kick of playing Premier League football at the end of last season, Coventry have been struggling to hit the same heights so far this campaign.

The Sky Blues lost on penalties to Luton in the Wembley showpiece and had Fankaty Dabo's spot-kick been struck with greater accuracy, it could have been them dining at football's top table this year.

But as it is, they find themselves 20th in the Championship, six points outside the relegation places, after 15 points from 13 games.

They have lost their last two games, to Bristol City and Rotherham, and have no win in three, with the current poor run coming off the back of a four-game unbeaten streak.

Mark Robins' men will be looking to lean on their strong home form at the Coventry Building Society Arena though, where they are unbeaten this season.

The clocks have gone back, it's dark and cold outside, so we'd like to extend a very warm welcome and invite you to settle in with your hot beverage of choice for the next couple of hours.

A battle between two Midlands rivals takes centre stage as we round-off this round of Championship fixtures with a bang.

Mark Robins' Sky Blues are looking to push themselves up the table after a disappointing start, while Carlos Corberan's Baggies are hoping to build on their solid start.

Welcome along to Monday night football.
