So often, teams at this level are guilty of trying to score the perfect goal.

Ollie Watkins isn't offside, he runs from behind as Australia switch off for a second.

Jack Grealish is absolutely furious, he thought his shot was on target, it wasn't. Watkins had to tap it in at the back post.

The predatory instincts of Watkins gets the goal.

It also came from the first moment of quality really with Trent Alexander-Arnold's ball forward.

Australia try to respond immediately as they win a corner but it is headed away and Levi Colwill leads a counter before he is fouled by Craig Goodwin.

I think with James Maddison struggling he's drifting into Jack Grealish's space. The two of them are getting in each other's way.

Chris: Bowen possibly the only positive, looks to get forward every time just not getting enough of the ball as it stays in midfield

Steve: No changes at half time, unbelievable. Surely 45 mins was enough to see changes are needed. Kane, Foden and Bellingham for Hendo, Watkins and Bowen.

Bit better from England so far, they are being a bit more positive going forward, but still nothing to really worry Australia goalkeeper Mat Ryan yet as Jarrod Bowen sees a shot blocked from a short corner.
