With one point from 10 games and a goal difference of minus 22, Sheffield United have made the worst ever start by a Premier League team.

They are the fourth side in English top-flight history with one point or fewer from their opening 10 fixtures. The other three - Manchester United in 1930, West Brom in 1985 and the Blades themselves in 2020 - all ended the season bottom.

Meanwhile, Wolves have only lost one of their past 14 Premier League away fixtures against newly-promoted opposition.

Gary O'Neil's side are unbeaten in five league matches - they have not gone longer without a top-flight defeat since an eight-game run between February and June 2020.

They have also scored in each of their previous nine top-flight fixtures.

  2. 'I don't think Bournemouth stand a chance'published at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Man City v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on Final Score

Do Bournemouth stand a chance? I don't think they do and the stats back that up. They haven't beaten Manchester City [at the Etihad in the Premier League]. I know Bournemouth picked up their first three points last weekend so they will want to be going there with a little bit more confidence, but the way City are playing at the minute I don't see anything other than a City win.

  3. 'It has taken Dyche time to get structure'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Everton v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on Football Focus

Having Dominic Calvert-Lewin back is very big news for Everton. It helps a lot, but I think it is more than that. It comes down to the fact it has taken Sean Dyche time to get a team structure that he has wanted. Everybody knows exactly what they are going to do. It is not the most sophisticated system, however, it is a group that all knows exactly what they are doing. They are all fighting for the cause and when you get a few home wins that really helps.

  4. Haaland on for 50 Premier League goalspublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    John Bennett
BBC Final Score at the Etihad Stadium

Pep Guardiola is full of praise for his players in today’s match programme, a week on from the Manchester derby victory.

He says he’s been impressed by the “hunger and desire” of the squad, which tells you that motivation levels are just as high this season despite the highs of the treble win last season.

One player with plenty of “hunger and desire” today will be Erling Haaland. A hat-trick today would take him to 50 Premier League goals in record time.

  5. Bournemouth backing for Iraolapublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Man City v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

After the home defeat by Wolves a couple of weeks ago, rumours started to circulate that Andoni Iraola was about to be sacked by Bournemouth.

The rumours turned out to be false and Bournemouth went on to beat Burnley the following week to move out of the relegation zone.

With Manchester City and Newcastle to face before the international break, Bournemouth's precarious position is unlikely to ease at any time soon but I am told Iraola retains the backing of the people that matter at the Vitality Stadium.

  6. Concerns at home for Kompanypublished at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Burnley v Crystal Palace (15:00 GMT)

Burnley are in danger of becoming the first team in English top-flight history to lose each of their opening six home games in a season.

They lost their final two matches at Turf Moor as they were relegated in 2021-22 and would set a new club record if they suffer an eighth consecutive top-flight home defeat.

They have also dropped 11 points from winning positions this season, a joint high with Bournemouth and Brentford.

Meanwhile, Palace have suffered as many defeats in their past two league matches as in their previous 11.

  7. Head-to-head statspublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Everton v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

The four most recent Premier League meetings were all won by the away team, including 4-1 for Brighton at Goodison Park in January and 5-1 for Everton at Amex Stadium in May.

Brighton can earn a third successive victory at Goodison Park; the only team they've beaten in three successive top-flight away games is Wolves.

  8. Head-to-head statspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Brentford v West Ham (15:00 GMT)

Brentford have won all four of their top-flight matches against West Ham, including the last three by a 2-0 scoreline.

The Hammers' only Premier League goal against the Bees was scored by Jarrod Bowen in a 2-1 defeat at the London Stadium in October 2021.

West Ham have only won two of their 12 league away matches versus Brentford, with the second of those coming back in March 1953 in the second tier.

However, they did beat Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in last season's FA Cup third round thanks to a goal from Said Benrahma.

  9. 'Stones has developed so much under Guardiola'published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Man City v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    Ellen White
Former England striker on Football Focus

From his Everton days John Stones always wanted to be on the ball, he was always technically gifted, but he has just developed so much, especially under Pep Guardiola. The evolution of a centre-half going into midfield - he must be working so hard to be that type of player for Pep in the system of Manchester City.

What John Stones has done at Manchester City is incredible. I think he is one of the best defenders in the world.

What he has done, going from defence and stepping up into the midfield, where you have less time on the ball and need to check your shoulder constantly, it is a very hard thing to do.

A few years ago he was left out of the England team and you look back and think 'how did that even happen?' The ability he brings to that area of the field and what he brings to the team in terms of how he goes about his business in that Man City team is quality.

The detail he goes into in order to play that position is frightening, a centre back turned into holding midfielder is phenomenal. There's not many players who can do that.

The Clarets had a tough start in terms of who they played early on, and everyone was waiting for the run of fixtures they are into now to see if they would kick on.

They have lost their past two league games, against Brentford and Bournemouth, so they haven't kicked on - and it's not going to be any easier for them against a pragmatic Palace side.

I don't fancy Vincent Kompany's team defensively, and I don't think they will keep their first Premier League clean sheet of the season here, even against Palace.

The Eagles don't score many goals - they have managed only eight in their first 10 league games - but I feel sorry for their manager Roy Hodgson because he has badly missed Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

This is going to be an interesting game, because Hodgson's side are so well drilled. Burnley will have a go at them, so could Palace exploit that? This smells of a draw to me.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

  12. 'Still a lot of work to be done'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Former Brighton striker on Final Score

A massive three points for Manchester United. It's still not great, still a lot of work to be done, but a great result.

  13. 'If someone is not putting in the effort he is out right away'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Everton v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on Football Focus

Last season I came to a game here and the players didn't put enough effort in and there was a horrible feeling about this place. But Sean Dyche knows, every player knows and every Evertonian knows that if you put the effort in the fans will be behind you 100% all the way through every single game. Dyche knows how to get that out of a group. If someone is not putting in the effort he is out right away and will not be part of the group.

So Sheffield United, still looking for their first win, take on a Wolves side who have beaten Manchester City and last week drew with Newcastle.

Paul Heckingbottom is battling a long injury list and constant questions about his position, he could do with a victory just to lift the doom and gloom.

Wolves are without Pedro Neto so Gary O'Neil will have to shuffle his pack. It's another very intriguing game and could be jam packed with goals.

People often say the sign of a good team is when they can grind out wins despite not playing at their best. I 100% agree with that statement, but United have done precisely that 6 times this season now. So we really need to stop using that phrase.

Fulham's disappointment and United's relief tells you how much work the Red Devils need to do to become a big club again.

Does anyone seriously think Manchester City will fail to win this game?

The two sides have played each other 13 times in the Premier League era - 12 in the league and once in the EFL Cup.

Manchester City have won every time.

Bournemouth have never recorded an away win against City.

City have won every home league and cup Premier League game in 2023.

    Bournemouth are 25-1 to win.
