  1. 'More goals will surely come in this one'published at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Goodison Park

Two such different styles, neither side will budge from it.

The directness of Everton has worked for them so far, and Brighton haven't made that many opportunities so far.

I expect we may see some more goals in this one.

  2. How do Bournemouth get out?published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has gone with three central defenders, with Phil Billing and Alex Scott providing the midfield screen.

The problem for the visitors is how they get enough of the ball to push forward and relieve some of the pressure, otherwise they will spend all afternoon on the edge of their own area.

    Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

Corner sent short by Julian Alvarez and Bernardo Silva strikes it well on the edge of the area but it's just over the crossbar.

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Glenn Murray

Massive start for Everton. Vitalii Mykolenko meets the ball first gets it on target and the rebound falls back to his feet and it ends up in the roof of the net.

GOAL - Brentford 1-0 West Hampublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Neal Maupay

    He's got a goal!!!!

Neal Maupay hadn't scored in 45 games and he's now given Brentford the lead, heading it beyond Alphonse Areola from close range, capitalising on a mis-hit from Frank Onyeka.

Maupay celebrates like he's scored a stoppage-time winner at Wembley on his debut. Lovely stuff.

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Shamoon Hafez
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

What a start and the crowd are right behind the team now - this really is a fantastic stadium with the atmosphere created when the supporters are upbeat.

Vitalii Mykolenko was as surprised as anyone when he scored there, he didn't quite know how to celebrate.

There certainly wasn't a choreographed dance, he just ran about a bit before being mobbed by his team-mates.

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Goodison Park

Verbruggen makes a good initial first save, but he has batted the ball straight back to Mykolenko, who has taken the chance to get his first goal.

It isn't an easy one to take either. Right-footed, not always that comfortable on his right, but he took that well.

Just listen to the noise in here now.

West Ham are pressing high early on and Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken has been put under pressure with the ball at his feet.

  15. 'Haaland up for this game'published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on Final Score

Erling Haaland seems really up for this game. He is showing a real physical presence in the Bournemouth penalty area. They [Manchester City] have started really well, dominated as expected, I am just surprised they haven't created any real clear-cut chances just yet.

  16. Postpublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Sheffield United lump one forward but it sails out for a goal kick.

  17. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Man City 0-0 Bournemouth

Lovely ball in from Jeremy Doku on the City left but Erling Haaland can't get his head to it.

    Early pressure from the hosts.

    Brentford 0-0 West Ham

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Final Score

West Ham need to translate their cup form into the Premier League, but as far as I am concerned it is much better than where they were last season when they were around the relegation zone. I don't think that is going to be the case this season.

  19. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

Mathias Jensen manages to swerve a yellow card for a late challenge on Mohammed Kudus which halts a West Ham counter-attack.

  20. Postpublished at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023
