    Wasteful.

Harry Maguire heads it away as far as Harry Wilson, who then skies it over the bar.

Here's that threat on the break from Fulham. A quick free-kick is pinged over to Willian and he earns a corner as his strike is deflected behind.

  3. 'Fulham look a threat on the break'published at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

    Dean Smith
Ex-Aston Villa manager & former Brentford boss on BBC Radio 5 Live

United have controlled possession well so far, been on the front foot.

Yet Fulham have looked dangerous on the counter-attack. With Wilson and Willian they do look a real threat when they have the chance to break forward.

  4. Postpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

Calvin Bassey robs it off Bruno Fernandes, who goes down in the box. The VAR check lasts mere seconds before it's waved away.

  5. Postpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

Nice build-up from United as Rasmus Hojlund tries to tee up Scott McTominay with a flick on the edge of the box.

It bounces off McTominay's thigh and Fulham are able to clear it momentarily.

  6. Postpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

Antonee Robinson skips past Antony on the left and curls it into the box. Diogo Dalot gets a crucial touch on it to take it away from Rodrigo Muniz.

    Ooh good chance for Fulham!

Andreas Pereira slips it through to Willian on the left. He cuts inside and shoots but it's blocked.

The rebound falls for Harry Wilson but his effort is saved before the flag goes up for offside.

    Ellen White

I can't put my finger on the exact philosophy United are playing. It looks a bit disjointed, especially defensively.

Andre Onana has kept them in a lot of games. His saves have been unbelievable. He has kept the scoreline down.

Going forward, at times they have nice fluid play but then the goals aren't coming. There is just not a lot of connection.

Erik ten Hag has been there 18 months and I can't see a clear philosophy they have got there.

Risky business at the back by Fulham. Antonee Robinson turns into trouble inside his own box, then hastily moves it on to Tim Ream. He's under pressure as he scoops it clear.

No Man U fan, but that is a ridiculous decision to disallow the goal.

    Richard, Sussex

I'm an Arsenal fan & have no love for Man Utd but that offside decision was harsh!

    Bill, Sheffield

Get rid of VAR - it's wrong on every single occasion now - that is definitely not offside - that happens every match and is NEVER given as offside...

    Leon Osman

Is Harry Maguire interfering enough with play?

In my opinion he is interfering, in Conor Coady's opinion he is not. It just shows how subjective this call is.

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

No goal! It's been ruled out for offside as Harry Maguire was the player interfering with defenders.

We're still goalless at Craven Cottage.

    Fulham 0-1 Man Utd

    Dean Smith

Fulham will be disappointed with that.

A bog standard free kick and United get the overload at the far post. McTominay has been on good scoring form recently.

It may yet go to VAR though, the initial ball looked tight.

This could be ruled out for offside. VAR are checking...

Harry Maguire is the player they are focusing on. Was he offside and interfering with play?

GOAL - Fulham 0-1 Man Utdpublished at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Scott McTominay (7 mins)

Manchester United make the most of the free-kick as it's whipped in towards the back post and pulled back by Alejandro Garnacho.

It falls for Scott McTominay, who fires it into the roof of the net from close range.

Erik ten Hag has had 18 months in the job and I can't honestly see much of a shift in what has been happening.

Yes, they did win a trophy last year but I feel Marcus Rashford's goals papered over a lot of the cracks at Manchester United.

Manchester United are keeping the ball well in these early stages. Bruno Fernandes is brought down by Joao Palhinha and the visitors have a free-kick inside Fulham's half.

  19. 'Winning next three games only thing acceptable'published at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on Football Focus

You have got to look for three wins [in Man Utd's next three matches against Fulham, FC Copenhagen and Luton Town].

That is the only thing that is acceptable. Manchester United fans and the club itself will be expecting three wins out of those three fixtures.

  20. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Fulham 0-0 Man Utd

Harry Maguire is indeed back on as Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz does well to win a throw-in off Bruno Fernandes.

Joao Palhinha then slides it down the line for Timothy Castagne.
