Raphael Varane was sent to warm-up. A few players are stood around Harry Maguire to check he's OK.

He's got a cut above his eye so they are patching him up but he might be able to carry on after all.

Oh this isn't good. Harry Maguire has gone down within seconds of kick-off after taking a blow to the head. He looks a bit groggy.

The medical staff are on the pitch now assessing him.

Is there a discipline thing off the pitch or on the pitch for Manchester United? Is it too disciplined? Are they fighting against the grain maybe? What is the culture like? We just don't know.

Is the ownership [uncertainty] a factor as well? I just want to see more fight, more desire, more passion.

That is what they need, especially in these next three games.

When I was a young man, I would do what people expected you to do [after a result] - I would lock myself away for the weekend and I would be disappointed all weekend. But someone told me it is more important to do something when you have lost, to pick your spirits up. I think it is unacceptable to think that footballers lives are just paused if you lose a game. These days, with mental health, it is more important. So I think Marcus Rashford was well within his rights to go out. It was his birthday. He can't help that he faced Manchester City on his birthday weekend, can he? If you are happy off the field, you are more likely to be happy on it.

Can anyone see anything apart from a convincing Fulham win? That Man Utd team looks the softest and weakest I can remember in many years.

It makes you feel embarrassed to see banners asking you to put the effort in.

Effort and commitment should be a given at a football club, people shouldn't have to tell you that as a footballer. You understand what the club means to supporters.

I think the players do realise that it is a massive game for everyone involved in the club.

There is so much coming out of Manchester United. A lot of drama happening, both on and off the pitch.

They need three points, they need to put this all to one side and they need results - especially for Erik ten Hag.

As a Liverpool fan, I think it’s disgraceful how the media has treated him this week. From headlines alone you’d think he was out til 3am with his mates, but it was a BIRTHDAY party organised by his own friends, and he turned up on time the next day. Let the man enjoy his birthday.

    Mo, Liverpool

Cannot understand any sympathy for Rashford. He is paid millions of pounds, he is a professional sportsman, his team got taken to the cleaners by the local rivals, you have played poorly all season - I'm pretty sure you can find other ways to celebrate your birthday than by going out on the lash at a nightclub on that same evening. Terrible professionalism from Rashford, and surely a sign of a wider cultural problem at Man United?

It does seem a little bit fishy, a little bit coincidental [that Marcus Rashford is unavailable due to injury]. Unfortunately for Manchester United the bad news just keeps on coming out of the football club at the minute. They don't seem to be able to catch a break and they are desperate for three points today.

Fulham have won just three of their 32 Premier League games against Manchester United.

The Cottagers are winless in 15 league meetings since they recorded back-to-back victories in March and December 2009 (D3, L12).

Marco Silva's only win in his six Premier League matches as a manager against Manchester United was 4-0 for Everton in April 2019.

Manchester United have won just one of their last 11 league games in London, although that was at Craven Cottage last November.

ETH is a man for yesterday. The stick doesn’t work anymore. The players don’t want to turn up for him anymore, and can you blame them if they’re getting chastised for celebrating their birthdays? Klopp, Arteta, Howe, O’Neil et al have harboured a family feeling at their clubs and the performances/desire/work ethic of the players speaks for its self.

Fulham v Man Utd (12:30 GMT)

    Dean Smith
Ex-Aston Villa manager & former Brentford boss on BBC Radio 5 Live

We can only believe what they have said, about Rashford being injured, for that being the reason he is not involved. Surely he would have been playing and involved today if he were fit.

No doubt that will be the talking point if United don't go and win today. We know when things dont go well for United, things will be multiplied tenfold.

This pressure comes with the job, ten Hag will know that. With the run of games that they have now it is an opprtunity to go and win some games.

It doesn't matter what the style of play is, which has been the big topic of discussion this week, it doesn't matter if you win. Wins quieten down the noise very quickly.

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has been ruled out for an extended period with a hamstring injury.

Casemiro suffered the problem during the first half of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup defeat by Newcastle.

The Brazilian was returning after a three-match absence with a minor injury issue picked up on international duty.

United have confirmed further assessments confirmed Casemiro has suffered a ‘strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks'.

Richard: I like MUFC being the first game of the weekend. It allows me to get my disappointment out of the way early.

Ady: The decision to start Dalot, who was absolutely dire against Newcastle, out of position ahead of a recognised left-back, is absolutely baffling. I hope it works or that is not a team sheet from ETH - it's a letter of resignation.
