Chris: Normal service is resumed. Let's hear the end of this 'Spurs title chase' shall we?

Joe: This is the Spurs I know and love.

Shaun: Chelsea need to be smart here and punish Spurs appropriately. Spurs are bottling it again.

    Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea

Chelsea introduce the pace of Mykhailo Mudryk for Enzo Fernanez as they look to run at the tired legs of nine Tottenham players, who are having to do the work of 11 now.

Tottenham are now playing with nine men. It was a stupid tackle from Udogie on Raheem Sterling. It's a long 35 minutes for Udogie and Romero in the dressing room.

  4. 'Udogie didn't need to do it'published at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2023

Udogie doesn't need to. He is going way from play. As soon as he makes the challenge and he gets it wrong, he knows he is going to go.

I think it is just a rush of blood and he must feel he is going to get to it but Sterling is very fast. As soon as he makes it, he knows he is going to go.

And then Pierre-Emile Højbjerg knees Nicolas Jackson's downward header from the free-kick over his own bar and onto the roof of the net.

Incredibly defending! He fist pumps his Spurs team-mates because that could prove to be huge.

Udogie knew as soon as he put that late tackle in on Sterling he was in trouble. Tottenham down to nine!

Luke: Like many FPL managers across the world I was hoping for a big game from Romero and Son tonight, to rescue what has been a sorry FPL gameweek. All on you now Son!

Don: Was anyone else relying on Romero and Maddison to make a positive impact to their poor FPL score this week? Oops.

Raheem Sterling does really well to cut inside Pedro Porro but his shot towards goal is headed away.

Tottenham then break but Yves Bissouma's scuffed effort on the edge of the area is blocked.

Reece James and Mauricio Pochettino wave their arms in the air as no Chelsea player gets near an excellent Reece James free-kick into the area.

    Mark Schwarzer

He should have laid it off to the right-hand side. He goes himself and it is off-target.

For Spurs it is a little bit of sitting back, backs against the wall and Chelsea are putting them under a lot of pressure.

Reece James has been excellent in this game, but the delivery from this free kick is not the best as it curls wide of the far post and behind for a goal kick.

Conor Gallagher is fouled on the left side of the box by Yves Bissouma and Chelsea have a free kick in a good position.

Mark: Always going to eventually lose a game, which isn't the big issue here, but the loss of Romero and Van de Ven goes well beyond tonight. Both out for massive games versus Villa and Man City!

Oliver: Correct decisions: Sterling & Son disallowed goals. Romero red & penalty. Incorrect decisions: Udogie, Romero, Reece James reds that weren't. Caicedo disallowed goal. But the disaster for Spurs long term is the injury to Van der Ven, and then Maddison. Gutting

A chance passed up by Tottenham as Dejan Kulusevski wins the ball just inside the Chelsea half and then Pape Matar Sarr drives towards goal. He gets to the edge of the box but his attempted ball through for Son Heung-min is a poor one and intercepted.

Not sure exactly how to sum any of that up. Spurs were phenomenal till Son's disallowed goal. Thiago then used experience to wind up Romero, Spurs then lost the plot for 10 minutes Romero deservedly red carded, started calming down and now back to Conte team with injuries. Give me a point now and move on. Bad luck and stupidity all in one.
