Well Gareth Bale has picked a game to come back to Tottenham for!

He's introduced to the crowd at half time and says it is nice to be back.

He looks the calmest person in the stadium.

Joe: I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this game may end with the fewest players left on a pitch in Premier League history by the end.

Anon: Well that was interesting. Kinda like American football meets Game of Thrones

Dan: The "utter petulance derby" never fails to disappoint.

I think a massive vat of Chamomile tea needs shipping to the two dressing rooms immediately because practically every player needs calming down.

I've never seen a first half quite like that.

I would be very surprised [if this stayed 11 v 10]. Chelsea having the man advantage and haven't made use of that yet. Colwill there should be thinking, 'we've got the man advantage' so just walk away.

What is Colwill doing? Why is he even involved? Just walk away.

Two goals given, three disallowed, a player sent off and what feels like 1,000 VAR checks.

Time to find a dark room to lie down in.

    Time for another VAR check!

This time it is for a clash between Reece James and Destiny Udogie. It is a check for a possible red card, but the check is quickly complete and we go on.

Are we going to see a first half of football last a whole hour? We are close.

Eric Dier is one of the senior and experienced players at Tottenham. He's got to tell the players to 'get a grip and let Chelsea play in front of us'.

Sho: Forgot how little depth Spurs have. All of a sudden that first 11 looks a lot like last year.

Mark: 10 mins in spurs were cruising & 35 mins of carnage & madness later they are hanging on.

Dejan Kulusevski is not far off getting his toe to a Pedro Porro ball from the right.

That's been Tottenham's first chance for some time.

Keith: Has Spurs luck finally run out?

Tattz: Maddison is injured, Romero is now suspended, VDV looks like he could be out for months. I'd rather lose this game 4-0 than have all of that!

Jonathan: Incredible. Spurs’ on pitch team has gone from arguably the best in the league this season to their Carabao Cup team in 10 minutes.

Big blow for Spurs [to lose Micky van de Ven] and he has sustained an hamstring injury.

They have lost their main centre-backs for a few weeks now. It's carnage for Spurs right now.

  19. 'Players keep on diving'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2023

    Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea

    Chris Sutton
Former Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

We saw at the weekend George Baldock diving. While there is rage at the referees and their level of performance, every week we see players cheating and diving. Yet we don't hear managers calling out players for that. They will congratulate players for winning penalties.

  20. 'Lack of consistency'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2023

    Tottenham 1-1 Chelsea

    Steph Houghton
Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Normally the captain is the only person that speaks to the referee. It probably has to work a little bit two ways. Emotion takes over and I think the way Spurs' players acted was not what we want to see the game to be.

When some players surround the ref you get cautioned for that and sometimes you do and sometimes you don't.
