It's chucking it down and the conditions are making it tricky for both sides. Dominik Szoboszlai is playing on the right and Mo Salah is down the middle with Cody Gakpo on the left.

Since the start of the 2020 season Martial has only scored 11 goals for the club. I know he went on loan for a season but that still is the very definition of mediocre. I don't see why he hasn't been moved on as he is not good enough for United.

Just the one goal in Havertz's first 15 games, not a great return for £65m.

It's a really good ball into that near post area. Arsenal should deal with it better than they did. Ben White overran it a little bit. I think it's a foul and that's what Ramsdale was complaining about.

There was a period of applause before the game got under way.

Big night for Mo Salah. He is captaining Liverpool tonight. Will he lead them to victory?

An early effort from Nicolas Jackson and a couple of corners have lifted the home crowd.
Ben White own goal (16 mins)
West Ham take the lead from a corner routine.
Jarrod Bowen swings it in and Ben White nods the ball past Aaron Ramsdale.
Wrong net mate.
Ties at Bournemouth, Chelsea, Everton and Ipswich are getting under way.
Man Utd v Newcastle (20:15 GMT)
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire speaking to Sky Sports: "It's really important to put on a performance for the fans. Sunday was really disappointing, bad result, bad performance and there is no better chance than tonight to put it right in front of our fans.
"We want to progress in every round and we are looking forward to defending our trophy [against Newcastle].
"We've moved on [from the Manchester Derby defeat] and we have to put things right tonight."

It was a great point for Fulham on Sunday against Brighton at Amex Stadium. After a terrible first half, Marco Silva's second-half substitutes paid off and it was great to see us dig in once again to claim crucial points on the road.
All in all, it's been a good week for the club with, of course, Silva signing a contract extension until 2026.
The fact that his contract was expiring at the end of the season was a big black cloud over the club, but it's great that now Fulham can draw up plans for the future knowing he will be boss for some time to come.

It will feel familiar to him.

EFL cup, pain in the backside for the Premier League sides, let's hope a Championship team surprises us tonight.

With the way Arteta wants to play, he feels with Raya, he can take the game a little bit further. I think Ramsdale is still good with his feet and a better goalkeeper.

Liverpool
Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders praised midfielder Ryan Gravenberch for his performances in recent times.
The Dutchman, who starts on the bench tonight, signed from Bayern Munich in the summer and has impressed in a new-look Reds midfield.
"We see the Ryan of Ajax - and that is really impressive," Lijnders said. "I'm not sure what happened at Bayern, but he wasn't playing.
"In the final third he is so good, how he glides... he has everything to dominate like an 'eight'. A happy guy plays better than a guy just being told what the coach is telling him."
