Martin Dubravka is on for Nick Pope.

This is Dubravka's second appearance of the season, both against Manchester United, the team he spent some of last season on loan at.

You saw it straight away didn't you, Pope immediately felt a pain in his left shoulder.

Didn't hesitate to wave for support from the medical staff.

Newcastle have had a lot of injuries this season and this would be a major blow. It's Nick Pope's shoulder and I think he's done for the day. A physio is basically holding his arm in place as they walk off.

As Manchester United come forward again, the referee stops play because Nick Pope is on the ground and needs treatment.

And Manchester United could be level as Segio Reguilon's shot is blocked on the line by Fabian Schar.

But bad news for Newcastle. Nick Pope hurt himself while diving behind the defender.

Manchester United win a corner as Alejandro Garnacho's cross is blocked. It's mad to think they are only one goal behind because they've been so outplayed.

Manchester United's Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat replace Kobbie Mainoo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

    It's a great block from Wan-Bissaka, a great challenge.

The ball looked to hit his knee before it then bounced off his chest and behind. Fantastic defending.

I have thought for a while that ETH has lost the players and I think these last few days have proved it. When players like Rashford can't be bothered something is very wrong.

  11. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 79 mins

    Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd

Newcastle players are screaming for a penalty as Aaron Wan-Bissaka blocks Miguel Almiron's shot on the line.

But a replay shows it was chest onto arm so that's not a penalty (in the Premier League).

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 77 mins

    Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd

Anthony Gordon knocks the ball past Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who hacks him down. Yellow card.

Of course with the score being so tight with just the one goal, Man United are still in this game.

They do need to find a way of getting and keeping the ball up the other end of the pitch for longer periods of time.

  14. Postpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Newcastle 1-0 Man Utd

This is the 11th instance this season of all 10 starting outfield players for a team having at least one touch in the opposition box in a Premier League game, with Newcastle accounting for four of those instances.

Manchester United try to counter from a Newcastle free-kick and Antony finds Rasmus Hojlund but he doesn't have the pace to get away and Toon track back in numbers to stop him.

We've seen at least four red cards given for less this season. Accidental? Absolute tosh, he knew he wasn't getting the ball and adjusted accordingly.

Great first touch from Kieran Trippier on the right but his ball across the box is poor. Not sure whether it's a shot or cross but it's a goal-kick to the Red Devils.

It's clear Ten Hag is not the right man for the job, it's not about the players it's about the coaching, look at the players Eddie Howe has and what he has achieved. Rashford and Co need a proper coach.

Schar definitely catches Fernandes there, no doubt about it, and it's a painful one.

I think it was purely accidental, just a follow through from challenging for the ball. A sore one though!
